The hotel was very clean and quiet. The rooms were quite small but comfortable and everything looked new and well maintained. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, excellent!
We loved the free water machines on each floor to fill up our water bottles. The pool looked amazing but weather too cold to try out this time.

Rolling Hills, Magnificent Gardens and Sandy Beaches
Situated on the north coast of Spain, the seaside city of Santander is the capital of Cantabria. This beautiful city has it all; from stunning beaches and green gardens to captivating museums and a bustling city centre.
Overlooking the lighthouse of the Mauro Island, the popular sandy beach of Sardinero is divided by the gardens of Piquio. These magnificent gardens feature Canarian palm trees, blue eucalyptus and colourful flower beds.
Located on the Magdalena Peninsula, the imposing Palacio de la Magdalena has a neoclassic French and English style. Wander around the green gardens and visit the small zoo; home to penguins, seals and other sea animals.

An interesting place to relax and discover the culture of the northern part of Spain, a safe city. Excellent cuisine famous for tapas/pintxos e.g. in the market in the city centre. Lots of parks and green spaces, friendly people. The Cabo Faro lighthouse is worth a visit, there are the beaches and their lively bustle, the Magdalena peninsula and the market in the centre of town, where you can enjoy a great meal. A handsome, friendly city which is undoubtedly underrated as a destination. Safe, clean, lots of varied sights, beautiful coastal walks right from the city centre. Inexpensive! Superb prehistoric museum. Bring a jacket / umbrella, it's cooler and wetter than elsewhere in Spain. Note: it is a very monolingual area: other than in hotels and the occasional individual in a shop or cafe, most people there speak ONLY Spanish!

This was our 3rd visit to Santander in 12 months. For £31 per person return flights from the UK, it is cheaper than staying at home.
Santander is a vibrant, fun and energetic city with plenty to occupy any visitor. The food options are to many to count and the bars are fun and friendly through the evening.

I saw lots of reviews recommending this town.
I saw lots of reviews recommending this town. It was not for me. The planetarium, which many raved about? Closed. Has been closed for a while, actually. And apparently when it was open, it wasn't open to walk-ins. Tour groups only, pre-booked, minimum of 5 people.
Many restaurants were reservation only, actually. Many more were closed.
Saw my first homeless tent encampment ten minutes after arriving in the city. Graffiti everywhere. So many ATMs on Google maps, marked closed. Shops closed or going out of business. "Rebajas" signs everywhere. So many multi-lingual beggars.
Lots of smashed windows, sadly. The town looked like some of the worse areas of other cities I've been to, but all over. Even the church, which was recommended as a very nice building, had homeless and beggars in it. I was there on Sunday (so many things closed) and Monday. For a place supposedly well known for it's meals of fresh fish, mine was bland at best. For a Spanish town, surprisingly few tapas places.

Santander is so quaint.
Santander is so quaint. The historic buildings are beautiful. There are so many bars, tapas bars and restaurants everything is so easy to find and within walking distance. It just felt so clean and just a lovely place to visit we will be back. We went to Bilbao for the day on the bus from the bus station, but pre book your seats as it’s always busy. It takes about 1.5 hours but well worth it then you can jump on the tram line into the centre
There were too many bars and restaurants to mention but the one right outside the hotel was wonderful too.

We used Santander as a base to explore prehistoric caves, historical sites and the surrounding parks. Six days barely got us started. I will say going in January worked well as temperatures were mild and rain was sporadic. We didn’t leave enough time to explore all the city but people were friendly, there were new things to see everywhere and the food is great.
Upgraded to Queen room, sea facing on the 7th floor. View of centro bodin was superb through picture window. Access and security with lift system was perfect.food in both cafe and restaurant was excellent as was value. Frankly I don’t see why it has 4 star classification when it easily matches previous 5 star restaurants I have used. Though I have regularly gone through Santander I have never stayed for more than a day. I had perceived La Bohia as an expensive hotel and hence dismissed it from mind. I was wrong. Very reasonable!
Modern and very clean rooms. Big bathroom with 2 sinks. Tasty national breakfast. You can make coffee or tea 24/7 at the breakfast line. Superb location near beautiful park of pines, and very close to El Sardinero beach. Hotel staff was careful and kind. Even if you will meet any questions or problems during your vacation in Santander, hotel staff will do everything to help you and answer all your questions. Especially big thanks to Jorge and Lara. Suite Home Pinares is definitely the best place to stay in Santander!!!
The location was fantastic! Just a short walk from both the bus and the train station in Santander, as well as Carrefour market.
It was super clean.
The tea facilities and the kitchen were nice to have around.
Very nice views of the surrounding area from the terrace.
The room was a great value-for-money.
The hosts were very friendly and quiet when we were around.
Very easy to get in.
We were able to leave our luggage on the day we left.
It is a beautiful minimalistic , modern hotel that used to be a residential, location is perfect, walking distance from most attractions , plenty of bars and restaurants where locals gather. There are electric escalators on the streets to go up the hills, since Santander is a very hilly city. Staff very friendly. Hotel director a super nice gentleman, thank you señor J , for your kindness, we’ll never forget.
It is four star and you can see the Sardinero beach from the hotel. There are five lifts. The corridors are splendid. The rooms are nice. The bathroom has a phone and a bidet. The shower has as well as the overhead sprinkler a separate hose for body-rinse. There is a desk, two comfy chairs and a table. There's a fridge. There's a safe. There are plenty of drawers and storage space.
The location was great. The hotel is nice you feel the history of the place. But I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 stars GL. The service is not 5 stars GL. Rooms are clean, big but a bit outdated. Showers were recently renovated and very nice and comfy, really liked it. The breakfast was good. The view from our room was stunning ! This is something we really enjoyed.
Great location right between the historical city center and the beach, so it was very easy to go by foot to either of those locations. The hotel is actually located right next to the tunnel that leads to the city center.
The staff at the reception desk was very helpful and explained to us what we should see in Santander during our stay.
we booked the unit last minute and the team was very helpful accommodating our schedule.
thank you Yolanda for allowing us to enter early and thanks to Mar for moving our items around.... without their help this visit to santander would not work out.
I wish I had more days to spend in cantabria
Great friendly team.
Amazing location.
It was my birthday and they made it special for us.
Quality of the room and experience for the price is incredible.
Actually one of favourite hotels now for this reason and a great place to stay for a weekend exploring Santander.
It was very clean, cozy and modern. The view from the room was very pretty - on the ocean side. The hotel is located in a very beautiful are of Santander, very close to the main beaches. The bus station for the city center is 5 min away from the hotel. Loved it!
Excellent location near the beach ,local restaurants and casino . Public transport was regular with easy access to the city centre ,train and bus station. The hotel has a welcoming bar and relaxing public area . Staff are very welcoming and helpful.
Great location. Easy to walk to the old town and closer-by restaurants. The room is spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The hotel has a story to tell, a bit of history. Breakfast is extravagant. Staff are welcoming and helpful.
The host was really kind, managed to explain all with the help of a translator app. The room was clean and comfortable although a bit hot (super good weather). The hotel is a good 20 min walk from the center of Santander. A good value!
This hotel was absolutely perfect for a stay in Santander. The ladies in reception were very helpful and the facilities were always clean and calming. I would 100% recommend staying at Hotel Chiqui.
The hotel was very quaint old home turned into a hotel. It was a short walk to the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the basement was good. The room was quiet and clean.
