Excellent overnight stay ahead of catching the ferry. Room was comfortable and the complementary tray of fruit and local baked goods was lovely. Daniel was really welcoming and the glass of fizz as we checked in was a lovely touch. Parking is worth reserving as there are only four spaces. It's about 5 minutes walk to the seafront and onwards to the bars and restaurants. We'd certainly stay again.

We were a group of nine men from the UK. Everything about our stay was perfect. The staff are truly incredible and go out of their way to make sure you have a perfect stay. They helped us so much with taxis from airport and around Santander, restaurants, and booking tennis and padel courts. Everyone had a smile on their face and so friendly. A special mention to Maripy, Isabel and Rosa (all staff are great but I remember these haha).

Love the Basque Country and whilst Santander was great and has some good beaches & tourist attractions, personally I prefer San Sebastián.
That being said my wife and I had a lovely time there, if someone said they were going to have a few days in Santander, I’d say great, that’s about the right amount of time. It has a lovely cathedral, some lovely churches, a few museums, galleries, plenty of pinxtos bars, great food, nice beaches.
What’s not to like, but I think a few days there is plenty.
Furthermore, I would suggest to them to stay at the Sol Boutique Hotel - we did and if we went back to Santander, would 100% return to the same hotel.

Very beautiful city by the sea. Full of life and interesting architecture. Friendly people, loads of great places to eat. Definitely recommend taking the ferry to Somo and exploring the beach. Centro Botin is a stunning art gallery designed by Renzo Piano and had great exhibitions when we were there.

Santander is a typical spanish city with seperate beach areas away from the town. Very few english visitors mean it is not spoken by many locals. No translations in any of restaurants/tapas bars added to its uniqueness. Lovely old town area including wide range of good shops made for a good walking exercise. Cathedral and Jesus churches worth the visit and all the locals are very friendly. City is busy but very clean. Not expensive to eat/drink out. Bus services good. Taxis are cheap.
A boutique hotel indeed, very small, but perfect for a short stay. Very comfortable and quiet, great facilities, immaculately clean. Parking was easy to find. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach, and about a 10 minute drive to the ferry terminal. Theresa suggested a fish restaurant about 20 mins walk from the hotel, which was a fantastic experience. Also, the route takes you through an old tunnel under part of Santander. And a good selection for breakfast in the morning.
We have stayed in Hotel Bahia whenever we go to Santander. it’s ideally located near the centre and all the lively bars and restaurants. ALS handy for the port. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and spotless. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially when it came to printing out our test results and passenger locator forms. on sight parking is pricey but so is everywhere else. Nice tapas bars just around the corner.
The hotel has a great location by El Sardinero beach, good access, easy parking, good rooms with great sea views, an excellent restaurant and provides a generous breakfast buffet. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Absolutely excellent and highly recommended for an overnight or longer stay in Santander. For UK visitors it is a ten minute drive to the ferry port.
Booked deluxe double room with parking. Car park under hotel. Very close to beach and an easy walk into Santander. Good size room with seaview. Lovely comfy bed. Nice clean bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. A short drive to the ferry port.
We loved the exceptional welcome we received from both Daniel and Anna who went out of their way to deliver a quality service. Ideal location for the city and beaches with parking.
