Lovely building, clean modern room, very friendly staff, good breakfast with scrambled and fried eggs and bacon, nice little pool and deck, a 15-20 minute easy walk to the nearest beach and another 5-10 minutes into the old town for tapas and wine though on our second night we found a lovely restaurant 10 minutes from the hotel (Ahaztezina), secure private parking garage with large spaces within the building on the ground floor (no scary tight underground garage here!).

San Sebastian is a famous beach resort in the north of Spain with picturesque coastline, vibrant nightlife and amazing Basque gastronomy.
Playa de la Concha is one of the world’s most popular city beaches, ideal for watersports lovers. Rent a surfboard on Zurriola beach or just relax on a cosy lounge chair under your umbrella.
Established as the culinary capital of Spain, San Sebastian features a variety of bars and restaurants serving delicious pintxos (Basque-style tapas), fresh seafood and fine wine. According to Spanish tradition, you should have one tapa and a wine in one bar, then move on to the next bar.
The tree-covered hill standing just across the gulf is called Urgull and offers spectacular views over the bay and city. Situated at the bottom of it, Parte Vieja is the old part of the town where you can mix with the locals and visit some of the city’s most interesting historical attractions.
San Sebastian Airport is located 20 km east, so it's a short journey into the city itself. Booking.com offers a choice of accommodation ranging from luxury hotels to guest houses, apartments and budget hostels.

Donostia-San Sebastián is very nice and we were very happy we went there but we don't think we'll be back soon because the town is definitely not a place for vegetarians.
In 2024, about 22% of the population is vegetarian or flexitarian and a third of all Millennials actively try to avoid meat.......so the restaurants and pintxo places in Donostia-San Sebastián don't keep up with the times.

Donostia-San Sebastian is a wonderful city to visit.
Donostia-San Sebastian is a wonderful city to visit. The food is amazing, the people friendly and very cosmopolitan. Not a big city and very easy to get around. We did a pintxos tour and an E-bike tour and I would highly recommend both. As there was a film festival on at the same time as our visit, the streets were very busy but access to bars and restaurants still possible. Good English is spoken by many residents.

There was plenty of great walks, water sports, including a boat ride to the island and around the bay and out into the ocean to the next beach. Plenty of good eating, drinking and shopping. No problems with walking the streets. Just follow the map. Also I felt very safe when I walked on my own.

I read that San Sebastian is the food capital of Europe and from what I experienced, it is a well deserved label. The Pintxos bars are incredibly delicious and surprisingly affordable, even in the heart of the old town. There are many charming streets to walk down, and do some shopping, but even though the boutiques look fancy, I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were from everything from clothes, jewelry to gourmet food items. Load up on salads before you come as besides peppers and olives there does not seem to be a lot in the way of vegetables in the pintxos, but the amazing combinations are well worth the calorie splurge.

We loved the old town and variety of pintos (tapas) bars, the Basque cheesecake and the Loco Polo ice creams are the best.
If it is a clear day I would recommend catching the funicular to the top at the other end of Ondaretta Beach, for fantastic views of San Sebastián and surrounding areas.

Great city with lots of interesting things to do and see.
Great city with lots of interesting things to do and see. The beaches are amazing, clean with clear water. If you are a foodie it is perfect, so much to choose from with seafood being top. No need for a car, everything within easy walking distance. Spent whole time in old part so not sure what the more modern side is like.

This was a very well located hotel, close to the beach and the old town. The fact that it was once a convent was evident in the reception area and bar, which provided an unusual touch. The rest of the hotel was beautifully updated. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was truly outstanding, one of the best we had during our road trip in Spain. The staff were very helpful, with some exceptions.
I really liked electronic check in. We got a link on What Up where we send our info and got a code to enter the hotel. It is amazing and very easy. Our room was very big with comfy bads. Location is 1 min walk from the main beach and 7 min walk to the old town. No parking, so we had to use free parking a bit outside the town.
Elegant hotel right in the middle of everything. View of the room’s balcony is unbeatable. Beautiful restaurant and cafe below. Walking distance to old town. So comfy bed and pillows. Only issue is that the walls are so thin that you can hear next room easily. Still, definitely will be my choice for next stay.
The most comfortable and classy hotel I’ve stayed in during a 3 week tour of Northern Spain. You couldn’t improve it in any way at all. I paid £95 per night and in the Cotswolds where I live you’d struggle to get this quality for £300 per night!!
