The property is very modern. It is well-run and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep. The breakfast offering was plentiful with lots of choices, including cereals, which has been lacking at other, higher star-rated hotels. The location is perfect for the weary traveller. I was given a very warm welcome, which always goes a long way after a hard day’s walking. The staff were very efficient and very patient.

Excellent location right on the Camino route. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Ate breakfast in the hotel which was a typical Spanish breakfast, however not enough space, tables/chairs for everyone which left people waiting a while. We were a group of 12 and all of our rooms were in the attic so we had no view or balconies however, the twin rooms appear to have balconies/views. Ate in O’Mirador and it was good.

A new independent house with a good quality building and finishing. The property has 4 bed rooms, well equipped kitchen, laundry and garage. So in fact it fits to accomodate a big extended family of up to 10 persons! Jose, the owner/manager is very friendly, reactive and helpful even if we communicate through WhatsAp only. He started giving us the guidance even weeks before we arrived in Portomarin. Will stay again there next time but surely with more member of our family (We felt sorry that such a big house is only occupied by 3 of us while the other Camino pilgrims had difficulty to find a lodge on that day of 01 May - Labour Day - where most hotels are fully booked). Muchas gracias, José!

Portomarin is right on the water, and on the Camino.
Portomarin is right on the water, and on the Camino. It is a beautiful town with plenty of restaurants and shops; very cute, a beautiful cathedral in the piazza, and very friendly people! It was one of the most scenic towns on the Camino.

There's a very interesting story about the current Portomarin that would make a visitor want to go around and see the city, it's historical landmarks and surrounding areas.

A small town on the Camino de Santiago - and anyone who’s walked The Way will know what that implies. Much of the economy of places like this, especially in catering and accommodation, is geared to servicing Camino pilgrims. Consequently there are albergues and pilgrim menus (pilgrim menu norm seems to be around €14 at present, still fair value) aplenty but by 10 p.m., and outside the Camino “walking season”, lots of places are closed. So, not perhaps the ideal place for nightclubbers. Having said that we enjoyed our stay, it’s a pretty place with great views but not a great deal of history on show - the original village having been swallowed up by the creation of a dam lake. The church was rescued and moved up the hill to its present location in the town centre brick by brick. It’s interesting to be able to just see the numbers painted on the masonry that ensured every block went in the right place. One heck of a jigsaw!

Portomarin is a very beautiful tiny little town right on the Camino de Santiago. It has a few beautiful churches and the town itself is on the banks of a river which makes it very picturesque. It is quiet and small, except for the pilgrims and that makes it very quaint.

Friendly staff provided excellent communication.
Friendly staff provided excellent communication. Could speak perfect English, which is rare in the in this area. Facilities, while basic, was perfect and spotless. Had the best nights sleep in a long time. Bed was so comfortable. Bag collection service operates from here also, which was a bonus. There is a lovely bar/restaurant literally yard away that had very reasonable menu. Price was very reasonable.I was very pleased with my choice.
The photos on the website don’t do the hotel justice. My room was much nicer than the photos would suggest and was a luxury after a long rainy day on the Camino. I also had a beautiful view of the river. The hotel is also right on the Camino so no extra steps. Although I had a private room, I really liked that the hotel also offered a bunk room for pilgrims on the ground floor.
Room & shared bathroom were very clean. Location was very good. It did not have the comraderie that I saw on other hostels along the route but it was more of a hotel than hostel, so all was good. Good place to stay overall. Nothing outstanding, just good clean, quiet, helpful staff. I'd recommend it, if you are looking for a clean quiet place for the night,
This was the nicest room I’ve had on The Camino. Beautiful, light decor with metal blinds that cut out the evening light, when needed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They also provide a laundry service, which was wonderful as I wandered Portomarín & returned to a basket of clean, dry, folded clothes.
Beautiful hotel and the rooms were spacious, clean and modern. We used the spa which was relaxing after a long day. the best part was the front desk lady (a British/Spanish/ Portuguese lady) who was super patient and kind and helpful despite all our questions. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
A great location in the middle of the town. The staff are very friendly and helpful with any request. And the rooms were very modern, comfortable and clean. It was lovely to be able to sit in the central green of the hotel after a long day of walking.
Lovely apartment in the heart of Portomarin. Great advice from Pilli on where to eat. We'd had a wet & cold day on the Camino and the apartment was perfect to get all our things dried and ready to go. Also immaculately clean & tidy.
Excellent home in quiet area of Portomarín and few minutes walk from center of town. House is amazing: extremely well furnished, decorated and maintained. Owners were very welcoming and helped us setup the mochila service too.
From friendly staff to rooms... No bunks and free lockers.. To wonderful kitchen and communal area. Free tea and coffee. All very spacious and clean. Beautiful location facing 0ark and Portomarin.
Very good location for people doing tle Camino de Santiago.
Quiet
Clean.
At the outskirts of Portomarin( maybe a mile outside )all the amenities of a 2 bedroom apt.
Good value
Great panoramic view of Portomarin. This albergue has everything and they even allowed me to have the room just for myself. The shared kitchen/bathroom/toilet is just perfect.
Porto Santiago Boutique was clean, comfortable, and in a great location in Portomarin. Our host was kind and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.
Super nice staff, good communication, easy and clear check in. Left a bowl for water for the dog. Great place to stay in Portomarin when going with your dog!
perfect location and the family that runs mm the albergue are just the best, treat you like family, don’t even consider staying any place else in Portomarin.
Absolutely perfect for us. Just a bit of confusion at the start as there are 2 places in Portomarin with Porto Santiago in their name. Staff very helpful.
