Hotel Balneario Río Pambre, hotel in Palas de Rei

This Hotel Balneario is located in the heart of Galicia, in the Ulloa region. Surrounded by forests and with a restaurant, it offers a unique, relaxing experience.

Beautiful location in the middle of the forest; it’s quiet and calm, making it great for rest. The staff was nice overall, and the lady from the restaurant was super helpful and nice to us! Big shout out to her and the food. We loved the location and the whole ambiance. However, I was disappointed to find out that you have to pay 15 euros extra to use the pool. Maybe I did not read the conditions well, but I think this is a liability because you can't fully enjoy the hotel without paying extra for everything. It's not the cheapest hotel, so you would assume you can at least use the public spaces. Other than that, the room was big with good beds, though the furniture and bathroom were old. Overall, it was comfy. Be aware that the place is super far away from town, so you need to get a taxi! We also loved the picnic food we got for breakfast the next day since we left super early and didn't have time to enjoy breakfast at the restaurant. ❤️

Rectoral De Lestedo, hotel in Palas de Rei

Situated just 32 km from Congress and Exhibiton Center, Rectoral De Lestedo offers accommodation in Palas de Rei with access to a garden, a bar, as well as luggage storage space.

Everything! Beautiful. Modern farmhouse chic. The lobby and restaurant area are beautiful. I sat and had my wine while watching a cow meander by munching grass. It was peaceful and idyllic. Every single staff person at this place was amazing - from check in with Julia; to dinner (I wish I could remember his name) our server was so thoughtful and fun. The owner Humberto (pretty sure I have the name correct) goes out of his way to make sure your stay is memorable. NOTE: this property is right on the Camino. To get your last few miles in (and not have to do it in the am) you can drop your bags here and continue walking to Palas de Rei and they will pick you up and bring you back. My friend and I stayed in a bungalow which was clean and comfortable. Initially hot but when you open the window at night it is fine. Others have mentioned noise from the bar area and there was some talking but by 10:30 I was peacefully asleep. They will also give you a ride in the morning to the trail you just have to let them know the time. If I was to go again I would stay in the main house and not a bungalow. Only bc the house has so much charm- there’s even a library that has 2 walls of glass to watch the cows meander about! Books are on the other side but eh who needs a book when you have cows :-)

    HORRIBLE HOTEL.

HORRIBLE HOTEL. INFESTED WITH BED BUGS AND NO HEATER IN ROOM. AWFUL SERVICE. NO ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE IN TIMES OF NEED. DISGRACE TO THE CITY. HOPE THE CITY SHUTS THIS HOTEL DOWN. WHEN YOU CALL THE FRONT DESK, THERE IS NO ONE AVAILABLE AND WHEN YOU CALL ON THE CELL PHONE, THEY SAY HEATER IS BROKEN OR MUNCIPALITY DOES NOT ALLOW HEATERS TO BE TURND ON IN ROOMS.

Of all our stops on the Camino from Sarria to here (...

Of all our stops on the Camino from Sarria to here (currently in Melide), Palas de Rei was the least interesting or exciting. Still, it had hidden gems in a hostal we found to eat dinner (there are not a lot of options) and returned for breakfast on our way out. Also, the laundry mat was a big plus and the driers worked really well. Dried a lot of clothes for 3 euros. Just have to ask around for change. The bar next door and the grocery store behind were so helpful.

A great place to stay, relax , have a well earned siesta after long walk from Portmarin 24.6 kms + Probably quieter in October when we visited but still found a good restaurant "Meson a Forxa" and had a delicious meal after 7 - early for Spanish but filled up rapidly . Lots of Camino walkers took break here.

A small town on the pilgrims way, the palas itself is 7 kilometers away. Restaurants are very good and reasonably priced. 10 euros are enough for a person per day to be happy and even to try a milk sucking lamb baked in owen.

I have been on El Camino for 45 days staying in hotels and casa rurales (no albergues). This was by far my favorite place to stay and eat. The hosts were warm, attentive, and very accommodating. There was an elegance to the house and attention to detail that made the stay so enjoyable. The food was truly exquisite. I was had three meals during my stay and all of them were delicious, beautifully presented, and what you would expect from fine dinning. If I ever return to this part of Spain, I would definitely book a couple of days here.

Patricia and the staff were kind and welcoming. The dinner menu at their restaurant was one of the best meals we had while in Spain. The care and attention to detail shows. Would highly recommend. The only down side is that we booked this while walking the Camino Frances and it added 5km to an already long walking day in the heat. Just be aware when booking for your Camino. But it is worth the stay!

Everything! After a 6 hour walk in driving rain on the Camino we were lucky enough to have booked this excellent hotel. It is located right on the Camino. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, with excellent A/C. Ben on the desk was super helpful. Luggage was in our rooms. He helped me with the washing and drying machines. None of our party of 3 could find anything wrong with our stay.

Lovely albergue. Easy check in, very friendly hospitalero. I loved the bunks with curtains for extra privacy, you also have your own power socket to charge your phone. The place was tidy and comfortable. It has a bar are and a big common room where you can socialize with other pilgrims. 10 mins walk to centre of Palas de Rei where you can do your shopping or have dinner. Easy!

Comfortable Pension on the Camino de Santiago. Host was very accommodating. We had a comfortable room with private bath on the second level. There's a small kitchen with complementary tea/coffee. A lovely patio, with seating as well as an area for washing clothes if needed (washer and dryer also available on third level, 4 euros each).

It is in the heart of Palas de Rei and along the Camino route, so not out of the way at all. It is secure to get in, and is a relatively easy check-in process. Additionally, when we needed an extra towel, the owner delivered one almost immediately! The shower had good water pressure.

Walking the Camino, the hotel was conveniently 30 yards from The Way. As for food, there is a restaurant just next to the hotel and other eateries a short walk in distance. The church and shopping is also very close, so overall a great location.

Generous breakfast however a machine to make hot coffee would be appreciated rather than cold coffee and cold milk in carafes for a cafe con lèche. It appears standard for pensions and hotels to have the auto machines minimally.
