Clean, delicious breakfast, close to Besalu, kind employees
The views and uniqueness of the town are amazing. It is small so you will need to find other things in the area to do if on a multi-day stay but we had no problem with that. Lots of great hiking in the area and close by towns to visit. The town has a great little microbrewery that makes some very good beers but is only open on weekends.

There is not much to do in this sleepy little town.
There is not much to do in this sleepy little town. It is probably best for an hour's time, and not much more. There is some scenery and a viewpoint for taking pictures of this scenic town, but it looks best from the outside (not the inside).
What is worse is that there is very little open in this town. I stayed at Ca La Paula, which supposedly has a great restaurant, but they decided not to open for dinner. In fact, it was difficult to find places to eat/ drink. I happened upon "Bar El Pub", which turned out to have great croquettes (large variety and tasty!). But this is the rare positive place of this town.
Other things I found open was the muffin shop, Cal Tuset (in the morning), and a coffee shop (C'an Roc). Other advertised places in this town were closed.
Plainly speaking, this town is good for a few photographs (and maybe some excellent, inexpensive croquettes) and not much more.

Warm friendly welcome, simple but clean and tidy quiet room and secure parking for the motorcycles. On top of that the lovely food that we had The restaurant.
The restaurant was packed at lunchtime but we hadn’t realised that the restaurant is only open in the evening for hotel guests. As we happened to be the only hotel guests that night they prepared a magnificent menu/dinner just for us..and always so friendly. A wonderful stay all round.
The bar / restaurant, with it's authentic Spanish menu and excellent service, was outstanding- a fond memory (one of our best meals out of five weeks in Spain). The food was really yummy and the atmosphere really enjoyable. The hotel is in a good location, on the edge of the old town.
The rustic charm of the well equipped and roomy accommodation and the outside space. The views across the wooded valley from the private terrace. The circular walk from our doorstep in Castellfollit de la Roca to Montagut.
