The food was really good and outstanding value for money. The staff spoke little English, but we managed everything with smiles and gestures.

The area is amazing and is so nice to be right in the middle of nature. The property is stunning, though it does require a bit of maintenance especially on the terrace as the wooden flooring is quite old and has missing nails.

nice location in the middle of the old town and nice staff
The views and uniqueness of the town are amazing. It is small so you will need to find other things in the area to do if on a multi-day stay but we had no problem with that. Lots of great hiking in the area and close by towns to visit. The town has a great little microbrewery that makes some very good beers but is only open on weekends.

There is not much to do in this sleepy little town.
There is not much to do in this sleepy little town. It is probably best for an hour's time, and not much more. There is some scenery and a viewpoint for taking pictures of this scenic town, but it looks best from the outside (not the inside).
What is worse is that there is very little open in this town. I stayed at Ca La Paula, which supposedly has a great restaurant, but they decided not to open for dinner. In fact, it was difficult to find places to eat/ drink. I happened upon "Bar El Pub", which turned out to have great croquettes (large variety and tasty!). But this is the rare positive place of this town.
Other things I found open was the muffin shop, Cal Tuset (in the morning), and a coffee shop (C'an Roc). Other advertised places in this town were closed.
Plainly speaking, this town is good for a few photographs (and maybe some excellent, inexpensive croquettes) and not much more.

Spending the overnight in Castellfollit was a bit...
Spending the overnight in Castellfollit was a bit disappointing. The village is charming, however nothing much is there to do. The cold cuts museum is closed down, the small town brewery owner didn’t want to open its doors that night. Other two good restaurants don’t open at night. The Church’s tower is not open during the week for visitors... They don’t seem impressed by tourists and apparently are happy not to increase their business with them. Or perhaps it is just the end of season.

Warm friendly welcome, simple but clean and tidy quiet room and secure parking for the motorcycles. On top of that the lovely food that we had The restaurant.
The restaurant was packed at lunchtime but we hadn’t realised that the restaurant is only open in the evening for hotel guests. As we happened to be the only hotel guests that night they prepared a magnificent menu/dinner just for us..and always so friendly. A wonderful stay all round.
Hotel full of character, basic but met out requirements. Great place to explore and see the geology, and learn some history. Bar/cafe/restaurant seemed to be used by local people which is always good. Food was first rate, good quality and probably locally sourced; some items cooked on an open wood fired grill when possible. Peaceful at night and good night's sleep. Suitable and safe free parking for motorcycles..
The town and the hotel are full of character. While you might not realize it when you're there, the town is perched on a cliff - great for keeping invaders at bay. We appreciated that fact when we took a beautiful hot air balloon ride the next morning and looked down on our abode.
The room was clean and comfortable - just what we wanted. We ate dinner there and it was excellent.
The hotel was lovely and the staff were very helpful and went out of their way for me. I honestly cannot appreciate the staff enough and how wiling they were to help with with something I had lost. Absolutely above and beyond. Dinner was lovely, and even though I was there on a holiday, they were willing to host me for the evening meal. Stunning location and beautiful stay.
The bar / restaurant, with it's authentic Spanish menu and excellent service, was outstanding- a fond memory (one of our best meals out of five weeks in Spain). The food was really yummy and the atmosphere really enjoyable. The hotel is in a good location, on the edge of the old town.
The rustic charm of the well equipped and roomy accommodation and the outside space. The views across the wooded valley from the private terrace. The circular walk from our doorstep in Castellfollit de la Roca to Montagut.
