The breakfast is superb. Dinner is also very good. The hotel is out of the centre, but you can walk down which takes you to the old town in around 20 minutes. However, we found that we enjoyed the other side of town more, so don't just go to the old town and not venture into the shopping areas. Comfy room, big hotel. Staff were excellent and very friendly.

The bed is great! I slept very good!!!

The bed was huge and very comfortable. Bathroom facilities very good and spacious. Breakfast choices and quality was excellent, as good as any I have experienced. Location on the edge of old city and easy walking distance by river sidewalks to the Guggenheim area was perfect for us.

Lovely hotel located in the centre of Bilbao. Close to shops, restaurants and the old town.

Very clean and all the staff were extremely friendly.
The rooftop bar was a nice addition and great for an evening drink.
The spa great and we had massages which I’d highly recommend. The spa is extra but we were allowed to use it for ‘free’ for 30 minutes with our booked treatments. We were the only ones in there which was nice. There’s a small pool and a sauna.
Despite it being central, the windows were soundproofed so you could not hear outside noise from the street from the 4th or 6th floors. We did have some noise issues from the bar/ restaurant above us in our first room.
Free water replenished daily in the bedrooms.
We loved staying here and would stay here again!

My favorite city, will retire there in 2026.
I am a New Yorker of Basque descent, my roots are from the neighboring village of Sestao however as a New Yorker, I prefer the city life as opposed to the suburban life hence my decision to retire in Bilbao---the mini-New York

Bilbao is a fab spot with loads of gorgeous little tapas bars and cute little streets. Unfortunately we had two small children with us and it is definitely not a child friendly city, we couldn’t even find a normal restaurant apart from KFC to get dinner for them. In saying that I would definitely come back again to sample all the lovely tapas and wine minus the kids ;-)

A busy, handsome city with character and an excellent public transport system. The Guggenheim is an obvious highspot, but don't miss the world's first transporter bridge, the narrow streets of the Casca Nuevo, the amazing range of pintxos either in the bars or, particularly, the Ribera market.

Right from the start Bilbao rose in my top favorite cities...
Right from the start Bilbao rose in my top favorite cities in Spain (after Barcelona where I live and Valencia which is my second option). It's a big city with a lot of things to do and see. It has both big avenues with large buildings and malls but it also has the old city narrow streets you would find in any european city. It is a bit puzzling to be that the city wasn't developed starting from the sea side inwards instead it actually a bit upstream on the river Nervion. The Guggenheim museum is a feat in itself and hosts quite a few modern art pieces from Basquiat or Warhol if you're into that kind of thing.
If you're lucky enough to be there during the Aste Nagustia, you will get fireworks for about 5 evening straight, about 10 different music stages and all of this in a beautiful old city center.

Great city - The Guggenheim was fantastic and great...
Great city - The Guggenheim was fantastic and great exhibitions. Great choice of places to eat in Bilbao. Definitely good for a city break. The only issue is that I hadn’t anticipated how much it would rain. The city is geared up for it but make sure you take a raincoat, waterproof shoes and an umbrella! Didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves.

Bilbao is all about the Guggenheim as far as I am concerned.
Bilbao is all about the Guggenheim as far as I am concerned. The “old town” is grubby and a far cry from the old town and beautiful streets of San Sebastián. Definitely come for the Guggenheim - it is totally worth it - but I’d only stay in Bilbao long enough to see the museum.
Lovely hotel spread over several buildings, with fabulous views of Bilbao. Our room was a good size, with comfortable bed and a great shower. We arrived on bicycles after a day of heavy rain and the staff were so friendly and helpful, getting our room ready early so that we could dry off. They also helped us use the excellent bus service into Bilbao “old town”.
The secure room for the bicycles was very good.
The buffet breakfast was also very good and we really appreciated the tea making facilities in the room.
Excellent location in the middle of Bilbao old town - could not have been better! The hotel was very clean. It does not have a reception and the hotel requires you to complete a self check in (and submit your passport details) prior to checking in. There is a hotel around the corner that the hotel is linked to that has a 24hr reception and luggage storage. The room itself was clean and comfortable. There is a kitchenette with a fridge (but there is no stove so you can’t cook).
Location of the hotel is amazing, it is in middle of the old town and there are so many things around.
The room was very comfy, bed was huge, and we loved the bathroom.
We enjoyed breakfast, food was tasty and fresh.
Best thing was the staff, they were so accommodating and friendly!
We came to the city at 7 am, and they took our luggage to hold, and called us as soon as there was a room ready, hours before check in time!!
If you visit Bilbao, this is the place to stay.
The hotel is located in the old town of Bilbao, and you just walk out onto the street for wonderful places to eat and explore, with an easy walk to the Guggenheim along the river. The room itself was a good size, immaculately clean with a comfortable bed. Considering it was a third-floor room above a reasonably busy street the room was really quite soundproof and dark with the shutters closed.
This is a great hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, in the best possible location in Bilbao's Casco Viejo (Old Town). The hotel is no fuss, functional, and very comfortable. The breakfast is outstanding.
