Barclay Hotel, hotel in Tartu

Barclay Hotel is located in the centre of Tartu, only 500 metres from Tartu University and close to several banks and shopping centres. It offers free Wi-Fi access.

Location was great. Only a 10 minute walk along the river to the bus station, and a 2 minute walk to the Town Hall Square. Lovely old hotel, very dated, and a bit dark, but clean and tidy. Basic room with ensuite bathroom. Perhaps a bit pricey for what it was, realistically, it was in a good position. Free apples for guests on the Reception desk.

Bike infrastructure + city bike rental = ♥

Bike infrastructure + city bike rental = ♥ National museum was interesting not only because of expositions, but also because of complex system, when all the descriptions are shown in your language(I think there are RFID in the tickets which you then use to switch language) Interesting mix of modern and old across the buildings/architecture A lot of different small things that makes living more comfortable

Tartu, the 2024 European Capital of Culture, is well worth visiting. It has a compact old town city center with many celebratory activities ongoing. The river walk is very relaxing. The market is interesting. There are shopping malls at the edge of the old city. There are green spaces galore and an exceptional, small-but-perfectly-formed Botanic Garden. Highly Recommended.

It's a wonderful place with both historical sites and contemporary initiatives, design and creativity. Wonderful assortment of places to eat to fit every taste and pocket. The Estonian National Museum is one of the top ten places to see before you die. Up-to-date, hands-on museum as well as delicious food and stunning architecture.

    This is a great city!

This is a great city! We were only there for two days, but we managed to visit the AHHA centre, the AURA water park and the Botanical Gardens. I liked the atmosphere of the city. The locals speak good English, which makes communication easier. A friendly city for families with small children and infants.

A quiet town, and summer is the best time to visit - probably that applies to all visits to Estonia, if you are not there for like a Nordic skiing training camp. Lots of action going on, whatever your interests and preference

It is a great university town with a very beautiful old town, good museums, music in the streets and lots to see. A trip is more than worth it! 5-7 days are recommended. Especially the university museum on the mountain (old campus), several churches and the city museum. boat trips on the river and the many parks are recommended. The KGB Freedom and resistance Museum is very impressive but not recommendable for little children. It shows the atrocities of different occupations. Not recommendable is the modern National Museum outside the city. It has hardly any interesting expositions, hardly visible details because of poor illumination, etc... It looks very modern from the outside but the inside arrangements is rather boring and unimpressive.

Extremely good location in center, with private parking lot. Reasonably comfortable rooms. Have recently introduced contact-free check-in and check-out, with phone app for the room key, which is innovative for Estonia and rather comfortable to use. There is still friendly staff available at reception, you can contact in case of need.

I wanted a place a bit far from the city center to enjoy my walk there, and I got it. The location is a proper estonian private wooden house, complete with a small garden and nice hosts (who live in the same house). There's a bus stop nearby, and few cafes (which I added to OSM / Organic Maps).
