Our kind of vacation wasn't based on what the town has to offer, but on the surrounding nature, so I can't say much about the tourist's attractions in the town.
Sometimes there's a problem to find a place to eat. You have to reserve a place in the restaurant in order to get there. The fact that most of the restaurants have the same days off is not helping too.
Generally speaking, nice place. Not cheap though.

Schluchsee is lovely.
Schluchsee is lovely. The location is perfect, 20min to titisee and, 20 min to feldberg (highest peak with cable lifts), 50 min to schaffhaussen or basel, 50 min to Freiburg.
In the summer period the see is so nice with boats and beaches everywhere. Just a great place

Great for short w-e at Feldberg Ski Station but also for walking/running in the forest or by the lake.
After a day of exercise there is nothing better than relaxing at Badeparadies Schwarzwald.
It is Highly recommended to have Schwarzwald Card since it includes Ski pass + Wellness ;)

Schluchsee was relaxing, not overrun by tourists, plenty of lake pleasure and Black Forest walks. The Seehof restaurant was enjoyable with well-cooked food and the best service with a smile.
The red card with 100 activities for free, including train trips is a bonus.
The Staff at Seehotel Hubertus is young, dynamic and super friendly.
The hotel lies directly at the lake, the view is breathtaking.
Train station is next to the hotel, which makes it easy to commute to pretty town of Schluchsee.
Rooms are a little outdated but comfortable and very clean.
Das Hotel ist ausgezeichnet. The hotel is in a great location we had an excellent breakfast everyday and also used the hotel restaurant for our evening meals as it was the best place in the village. Staff were very helpful and even patient with my attempts at the German language.
The Pension am See is located directly at Lake Schluchsee, there's a bakery and a supermarket nearby. Although the room interiors look tired, the rooms are clean. Our room had a little balcony and was relatively quiet.
Very nice location, 2 mins walk from the Schluchsee. The hosts are very friendly and the restaurant they run is also very nice! We were very happy with our stay there!
