FAQs about hotels in Regensburg
On average, 3-star hotels in Regensburg cost £86 per night, and 4-star hotels in Regensburg are £103 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Regensburg can on average be found for £176 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
Regensburg’s cobbled streets, colourful façades and step gables constitute Germany’s best-preserved medieval centre. A 12th-century stone bridge crosses the Danube River between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town and islands forming the Stadtamhof district.
Regensburg was an important trading centre and its wealthy merchants built tall towers, such as the Goldener Turm, to outdo each other. The dual spires of its Gothic cathedral tower over red roofs sheltering pavement cafes, traditional bierkellers and modern bars.
Niedermünster abbey also has square towers, while the Alte Kapelle’s most impressive feature is intricate gold interior detailing. Nearby Neupfarrplatz houses the annual Christmas markets, while the old town hall is on Kohlenmarkt. Just down the street a large David and Goliath mural adorns a house.
A plaque outside a more modest house marks Oskar Schindler’s former home. Much grander is Schloss Thurn and Taxis, an 8th-century monastery converted to a noble residence. At the eastern end of a park encircling the historic centre is a villa built for King Maximilian II of Bavaria, overlooking riverboats which cruise past a more outlandish royal creation – Donaustauf’s Walhalla monument, resembling a Greek temple.
Booking.com offers a great range of Regensburg accommodation including 4-star hotels with spas, cheap apartments and guest houses near the train station.
The city had a lot to offer tourists. Loved the buildings and streets. The Old Town Bridge offer easy pedestrian passage over the river affording more places to discover.
My major disappointment and a big one was that No One in Regensberg knew about the marathon which shut down all the roads from the train station to the river. I was very angry and now hate sports more than ever. The hotel staff tried to get us transportation to no avail. My husband and I had to walk from the hotel with all our luggage to the ship.

We loved Regensburg.
We loved Regensburg. It is a beautiful, quite city with friendly people, great food, and reasonable amount of traffic. Our visit was very plesant. Nothing went wrong. Dining in the restaurant and shopping in the supermarket are both quite cheap.

I travelled to Regensburg every month for 15 years working and never tired of the city. We still visit every December to meet old friends and enjoy the Christmas ambience.
Plenty of traditional Bavarian restaurants - my favourites being Hacker Pschorr and Dicker Mann - but lots of modern places as well
A beautiful old city centre - exactly how you would envisage a traditional Bavarian city. Not to be missed

Regensburg is a wonderful medieval town.
Regensburg is a wonderful medieval town. The entire old town is easily walkable and there are so many ancient homes/buildings to see. Get a local guide so you don’t walk right past something incredible without realizing.

beautiful medieval city centre, one of the best in Germany, lots of cute and creative little shops, many restaurants with great selection of cuisines. Had a great dinner at The Thai. Sightseeing tour was 10 Euros and covers all of the centre with good explanations. Great coffee places with good cake.

We only stayed one night because we were meeting our river...
We only stayed one night because we were meeting our river cruise there. We also spent the next day in Regensburg on a walking tour. It is a beautiful city. The hotel was fantastic, and we wish we could have stayed longer!
A really nice cosy hotel, with some amazing historic interiors in places.
The location in old town is beautiful and perfectly located for walking to any big sites, and also near the electric aldstadt bus stop (for easy arrival without a car, or travel for those that can’t walk as much).
Breakfast was very enjoyable and had a very nice selection of bread, sweet and savoury things - with some good warm options available too (Scrambled egg + a different meat each day: sausage, Leberkäse or meatballs, during my stay)
The hotel is modern. The room is clean and quiet. There are roller shutters. The hotel can be reached on foot from the station (although it’s a bit far) or one stop by bus. To explore the Old Town, it is better to take a bus and go to the famous bridge. Breakfast is sufficient, varied and tasty, but not enough hot dishes. The third place is comfortable, good mattress. WiFi works well... the password is on the TV-screen. There are enough channels on TV.
Simple, practical and new hotel. Everything works well and the room is as quiet and comfortable as it gets in similar hotels. While the modern property and it's immediate surrounding have little character, this is well compensated with relative proximity to the likeable old town. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would gladly stay here again.
Very comfortable. Single bed room but enough space for comfort and lovely bathroom. Location is ideal for exploring the town in the middle of Old Town in a lovely square with italian food markets. Hip interiors give a feeling of character to the hotel and breakfast is generous with food to satisfy most appetites. Would happily stay here again
Very tasty continental breakfast (one of the best scrambled eggs I have eaten in a hotel), clean and fresh rooms, comfortable bed. 15 min walk from the lovely old town. We also got a bag of flower seeds as a welcome gift, that was very cute.
Room was spacious and comfortable for us (2 adults and a 2 year old). Hotel itself is in a super location right in the middle of the old town. The hotel is a beautifully renovated old building and the staff were helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed their breakfast very much. The hotel is great location with clean spacious room (a little outdated..), right next to the old stone bridge, just few minute walk to old town. We will definitely come back to this hotel.
Check in staff very friendly. The hotel is clean and offers you a comfortable stay. The restaurant is nice and serves good food. All in all good value for money. Can recommend this hotel. 10 min. walk from old town.
Very nice hotel in the middle of the old town. The breakfast was fantastic with different fruits and other goodies. Very nice staff. We stayed here on two occasions and got 2 different rooms with different themes.
Location of the hotel is perfect, near the old town and shopping centers if any of them is needed. Very pleasant lobby, clean and spacious enough rooms, friendly stuff.
