I needed a clean, basic room with a bathroom for one night and that is what i got. It was nothing fancy but I wasn’t looking for luxury.

of course, the incredibly varied breakfast - together in a family atmosphere! The landlady looked after the guests in a very friendly manner. It was always an interesting and fun start into the day. The location is perfect, close to the river with the Elbe cycle path in front of the house. Only a 15 min walk to the train station heading to Dresden, 25 min walk to the romantic places of Meissen.

The town is beautiful and worth traveling to, but a very important note: if it's a weekend trip travel Fri- Sun. Everything even some restaurants are closed on Sunday and Monday. Being spoiled Berlin dwellers we came into town for a Sun-Mo trip, and got to enjoy only about 30% of what the area has to offer.

The town is so beautiful!
The town is so beautiful! It's easy to reach any place, because the town is not big. We traveled by car, but we also walked a lot in the Old Town. The architecture is amazing. Especially I recommend to visit Albrechtsburg Castle. It's just fantastic!

Romantic old town with a huge castle and church dominating the scenary. Meißen is in fact the birthplace of the state of Saxony.
Located right at the longest official bicycle path of Germany, the 'Elbe Radweg'. Visitor-friendly locals.
Not destroyed in WWII, hence it provides a rare collection of very old and charming houses, with lots of photo-ops, cozy spaces for a glass of wine and for shopping antiques.
Famous for its porcelain making; the factory and its museum is a must.
Good assortment of low and midtier restaurants.
Located very close to Dresden and Sächsische Schweiz, so a stay in Meißen can easily be combined with day excursions up and down the Elbe.
Environment is pretty 'green', so it's also a good destination for a vacation with dogs.

Fabulous town on the Elbe with a sense of history.
Fabulous town on the Elbe with a sense of history. The buildings have mostly been renovated since the Soviet era. The entire town has been preserved by the Denkmal Authority and as a result it is untouched by modern development. There are several excellent restaurants in the town and I highly recommend the St Benno Restaurant in the Market Square where local cuisine can be sampled in a keller that contains the fountain of St Benno which dates back to the 11th century.

The extent and the variety of architectural periods of all the original buildings because Meissen was not bombed as Dresden was in 1945. The restoration of the Albrechtsberg was also fascinating as was the Meissen Museum in the Meissen Factory.
Incredible location in the Altstadt, in the shadow of the Albrechtsburg and Cathedral. Super host, who messaged effectively after booking and on the day of arrival. She also gave good information about the city, upon arrival. The house is immaculate. I chose the single room, my traveling companion chose a double room. Both rooms were wonderfully outfitted and comfortable. My en suite bathroom was also immaculate, with generous hot water. Beside the fine rooms, there is outdoor seating room. A guest could not ask for more.
The apartment of Franka was absolutely stunning. Everything was completely new and it had a cosy atmosphere. I really liked the view where you could see the Albrechtsburg closely. Franka is a really kind and nice person. She was always available and gave me some nice recommendations what to do in Meißen. I highly recommend this apartment because the price performance is unbeatable. I will come back for sure.
Great location, great value and very nice people. The property is just a 2 minute walk from the train station Meissen-Altstadt and it's only a 2 minute walk to the central market place. Shops and restaurant are directly around it and it also has a nice courtyard which made the rooms very quiet despite the central location. Rooms are nice and beds are comfy.
Everything was wonderful. The restaurant was simply superb - for the wait staff, the dinner and the breakfast. The hotel staff were super professional, warm and friendly. Have absolutely no complaints. The place is a delight. Wish we stayed there longer. Kids loved it, and they loved the kids.
A great location in the center of Meissen. I had access to a private hotel parking lot. Cost of this was 5 Euro daily which was very reasonable. There was elevator access to floors with rooms. The hallway was quiet. Our room was across from cathedral. The bells did not bother us one bit.
Very clean and spacious. Excellent breakfast. Wine and beer available in the 'living room' for a small fee.
Next to the famous Porzellan-Manufaktur (a must for your visit) and at walking distance to all old town sights and restaurants. Less than 10 min to the Meissen Altstadt train station.
If you're gonna visit Meißen - stay here! The view is amazing. We spend 4 days here. Our meal in the balcony restaurant was the highlight. Fabulous food and wine with breathtaking views over the roofs below. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice.
Very helpful and smiley staff, great breakfast and private parking nearby. Hotel in the heard of Meissen city center, close to train station. Clean rooms, bathrooms amenities (soap for body and hair, body milk, hair conditioner etc.)
Fantastic old manor in the countryside near Meisen. The host was very friendly, polite and helpful! We (group of 12 people) had a great time there. Kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed! Just fantastic!!!! A++++
hotel is ok. staff ok. location good for cyclist going along the elbe. view of castle from the room in the background (although supermarket and car park in the foreground). draught beer was excellent
We liked the hotel, it's clean and beautiful. The breakfast is hearty, lots of choice. Lots of parking space, horses nearby, ponds, a garden with a restaurant, the food is very tasty.
A perfect place to stay for exploring Meissen and nearby vineyards. Well located cosy hotel with awesome and great hosts. Good breakfast with fresh coffee! Thank you for a great stay!
This was a super comfortable and very convenient vacation apartment. It's close to the old, charming center of Meißen. Just steps away from the Meißen Altstadt train station.
