Wow, what a gem of a hotel! I must admit, I was a bit hesitant when booking this hotel due to its slightly lower ratings, especially since I was traveling with young children. However, I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised by our stay.
I'm not sure what some guests expect from a three-star hotel, but in this category, this hotel exceeded all our expectations. It even outshone many higher-rated ones we've stayed at before.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the addition of a mini kitchen was a godsend for our family with young kids. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Despite arriving well before the designated check-in time, they went out of their way to quickly and flawlessly clean our room, allowing us to settle in much earlier than expected.
An unexpected perk was the complimentary public transport tickets for the entire Konstanz area provided during our stay, which made exploring the city so much easier and more enjoyable.
Breakfast was decent, nothing extravagant but certainly satisfactory. Such was the level of service at this hotel that we even decided to change our plans and stay at another hotel, the Ibis Styles in Graz, instead of our original choice. And let me tell you, we have nothing but positive things to say about that hotel as well.
Overall, our experience at this hotel was nothing short of excellent. From the attentive staff to the comfortable rooms, everything exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be returning here on our next visit to the area.

The German town of Konstanz is located on the shores of Lake Constance, whose waters define the borders between Germany, Switzerland and Austria. With a medieval feeling, the Old Town mixes narrow cobbled streets and squares with colourfully decorated houses, some of them more than 700 years old.
With settlements in the area dating back to the Stone Age, the ancient town of ‘Drusomagus’ was founded by Romans around 50 AD, with the name ‘Constantia’ first appearing during the 4th century. Since the Middle Age, the city grew as an important spiritual and trade centre, something noticeable in its prominent old houses. Some of the best hotels, guest houses and B&Bs in Konstanz are located in historic houses.
Each first Friday from May to October, shops in the Old Town remain open till late, and it iin possible to with ll prtesent uch as the renowned s possible to enjoy lively evenings with open-air shows and music. Must-see places include the imposing Constance Minster and the remaining city wall towers. Mainau Island is a charming park island including a butterfly house.
There are several railway stations, while the closest airports are in Zurich and Friedrichshafen. When planning your trip to this beautiful German town, check out the Konstanz accommodation deals available on Booking.com!

As my ancestors were residents of Konstanz I have visited a few times.
It is still a beautiful city. However it is becoming very busy, which brings it's problems.
Noticeably it is unclean in places and the soul of the place is being lost.

Great historical place located in the extraordinary beautiful lake of Bodensee. Historical reminiscenses related to the Bohemian past - related to priests John Hus nad Hieronymus from Prague, both sentenced to cruel death because of their Christian faith.

Konstanz is a fabulous place to visit.
Konstanz is a fabulous place to visit. Ferries seem to be crossing the lake even in winter, there are thermal baths (Thermen) with views of the foothills of the Alps, the old town is beautiful, and you can walk along the lakefront. Snowy times must be beautiful here - I've see fabulous pictures of this (and the Christmas market has been recommended to me). Just before Lent there is the fantastic Fastnacht festival, which is a wonderful family occasion, including the Saturday morning children's parade (and gathering on the Markstatte), which is less crowded than the Sunday one (one tip for the larger Sunday event is to walk to the start of the parade area where it is less crowded and where little ones can see better). In summer there is swimming in the lake, a large open-air swimming pool with slides, right beside the thermal baths, the floral peninsula of Mainau, the wonderful Reichenau pensinsula with its monastery and walks, and trips to local sights by train and ferry. Cycling is easy, and there are city bikes (and in February 2024 also scooters).

I love Konstanz.
I love Konstanz. It is quiet and peaceful walking along the waterfront. If you are a cyclist or a runner, there are tracks around the water. You can also get the ferry to Friedrichshafen.
The old town is very quaint and has lots of nice restaurants and bars. It is also pretty good for shopping and has a very good Zalando outlet.
The modern part of the town, the other side of the river has a street of big hotels that are decent, but the area is not pretty at all (nothing like the old town). You can walk around 3kms to reach the old town or your hotel will give you vouchers for free buses.

We chose Konstanz because it has a Christmas market and to be a base for a certain amount of travelling around. The market (which runs daily) was large and lively, drawing crowds from all around . The city repays wandering round, with a good range of historic buildings and shops large and small. During Advent, some events - notably concerts - appear to be mostly confined to weekends, but there is a good multiscreen cinema. It was easy to take the ferry to the wonderfully atmospheric castle at Meersburg or the train down into Switzerland to visit the UNESCO world heritage library at St Gallen (ask at the station how to get the cheapest travel deal).

Great hotel in superb location.
Great hotel in superb location. Everything is within the walking distance. Hotel does not have a parking option, but the parking is available right across of the street.
Great room, everything is nice, pleasant, efficient. Very professional staff, front desk is extra helpful.
Great breakfast, selection of food is outstanding.
I will highly recommend this hotel for a short holiday stay.
The room we got was very nice: furniture was clean and new, the bathroom was also quite impressive, big, sparkling clean, and the shower was really nice. We also had a large balcony. Breakfast was included, and was also good. There is a large private parking you can use (not included in the price), but very convenient. Staff was nice and suggested few restaurant to have dinner. Finally, about 5 mins walking from city center.
The hotel is really well located (in the old part of the town and not too far from the Bodensee). The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. Personally, the best part of my stay was breakfast: the breakfast buffet has a large selection of both sweet and savoury foods, warm and cold foods, as well as various baked goods. Great way to start the day!
Very happy with my choice in staying here. The room is basic, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast had everything I hope for at a hotel: fresh bread, some cheese, smoked salmon, vegetables, and more. Much better than hotels in the US. This is my forth stay in Konstanz, each time at a different hotel, next visit I will simply return to this one.
The staff was very friendly and professional, the hotel is very clean and there is a big parking lot for a good price. It's also really nice that there's no hassle on arrival on where to leave the car/motorcycle, as you can drive right to the hotel door and leave your vehicle there for half an hour. I really liked the overall experience.
Constance Old City (Alt Stadt) is lovely and this hotel is perfectly situated to take advantage of it. It's convenient and comfortable, with a very pleasant and accommodating staff. The bathroom even had a tub, which is rare for European hotels in this price range.
Best location for the old part of the city.
Very nice and good mood staff.
Spacious room.
Air conditioning in the room - quite rare in hotels of this level in Germany.
Good breakfast.
Real three beds and not a double and a sofa.
Great hotel to stay and e plore Konstanz. Great location for the boats and the train, while close to all parts of the old city.
Comfy beds and well maintained room with very friendly and helpful staff.
Clean comfortable hotel with a good breakfast. Staff helpful and pleasant. Useful to have bus pass which we used. About 40 mins walk to the main city but several choices of buses available.
I booked the one room apartment for weekend, the view and sunshine were all great! Breakfast was tasty and well organized, will definitely choose this hotel again when next visit to Constance.
The hotel is very clean and the staff is very nice, it is also in a very calm area of the lake. The breakfast is good. The hotel is highly recommendable.
