The city itself is very cute, the old center is actually not huge, but there is a nice park around it, which was home to some concerts and events at the time of our visit (early June).
Not only is it a cute town in itself, it is also very well located to explore the region. Cesky Krumlov is 25-ish minutes drive away, the Lipno treetop walkway is about 1 hour. Pilsen is around 2 hours drive. There is a plethora of super cute towns and also a lot of beautiful nature and possibilities for biking and hiking in the entire area.

Lovely historic town, super Xmas markets - better than Prague. Loads of great bars and several superb microbreweries as well as the world famous Budvar brewery which is well worth a tour.
Great parks and loads of easy walking around the town make it a pleasure to visit.
Good transport links and nearby Cesky Krumlov is a must see.

For a Czech city it was surprisingly uninspiring, the old town is beautiful and it's easy to get around. There is no castle or other major attraction. There's a brewery which proved to be very interesting.

Besides having a beautiful city centre and plenty of good cafes and restaurants and shops, the city is convenient as a hub from which to visit nearby towns in South Bohemia such as Ceske Krumlov, and to link with hiking and bicycle trails.
The Regional Museum is also well worth spending a few hours in.
One thing that online Maps fail to advise, is that Ceske Budejovice has a comprehensive bus network, that is inexpensive.
Overall the people seem happy and friendly to tourists.

Small, less touristy town. Nice town along the river.
Small, less touristy town. Nice town along the river. Has some nice parks and large town square. Not as cute as some other Czech towns but is home to the original Budweiser. Do the tour to learn all about the beer and taste it. The Hluboka Castle is 30 minutes north of the city. If you have time rent a car or use the public transport (bus or train) to go see it. It’s a beautiful, Winchester palace inspired castle. Large ground territory and free to explore. You can pay to do tours inside the castle but walking outside the castle is already worth the visit.

The beds are super comfortable, and the staff is great. They are helpful and really nice.
We spent 2 nights in the hotel, and we had two breakfasts. One of them was amazing. Huge variety of everything. Not only the continental breakfast elements, but also donuts, pastries, spreads, etc. The second breakfast was not like that. It was okay, but nothing special. (No donuts. :( )
I liked this place a lot! It is close to the center of the city. This is old house with own atmosphere and it has very cool steep stairs inside. It was very clean, comfortable, warm, no specific noises in the house.
Lady from reception is nice and kind, thanks to her a lot!
I recommend this place like a good inexpensive place to spend few days in Ceske Budejovice!
Fantastic location, beautiful hotel with lovely paintings in communal areas, great breakfast (including cooked to order hot options), friendly staff, comfy bed, good air con. Our room on the first floor had a lovely little balcony where we could sit in the sun.
Hotel perfectly located on the main square, meaning a nice view for the breakfast. The building itself is also beautiful.
The staff was professional, and the housekeeper very kind and helpful.
Always nice to have a restaurant on site.
Located right in the centre of Ceske Budejovice, with private parking space in the back. Very well-designed, tasteful, large and modern space, and fully equipped. Nice balcony overlooking the private gardens as attic on the 4th floor.
The hotel is in the middle of the town (3 min on foot from the main squere). It's very difficult to find parking in such cases, but the hotel has own garage. The breakfast was good. In general I can recomend them for future vvisits.
This was a charming boutique hotel, with an excellent restaurant and a nice wine list - great selection of French wines. Perfect for a getaway, just off the main square. Comfortable room that was clean and quite spacious.
The hotel was amazing value for money. It's actually not so far to the centre (10 to 15 minutes walk, straight along a road, so really easy). Such friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Clean and with excellent facilities.
The communication with the hotel was very good, before we arrived and during our stay the staff was very helpful and comunicative.
The breakfast was OK.
The location is very good, only 2 minutes walk from city center!
I liked your Hotel CB Royal because the room is clean and the surroundings are quiet and you have peace of mind and the staff of Hotel CB Royal is kind .... Super ...thank you Hotel CB Royal .... God bless you
Big spacious apartment with everything you need. Nice location in old city centre. Nice historical building of Hotel with minibrewery on the ground floor. Perfect communication by host.
Hotel location is very conveniently located. I liked the location. Room was specious, not as small as it appeared on the website. AC was working fine so i beat the heat.
Quiet and clean hotel, great location just a few minutes walk to Old Town, easy parking, amazing breakfast buffet, Alisa at the front desk was very kind and helpful
