Food in the lovely restaurant was really amazing and excellent value. The grounds were beautiful. Unfortunately the weather didn't co operate for us to do much hiking along the available trails but that's no reflection on the hotel itself. Breakfast was delicious

The rooms (casitas) are cozy and clean with very spacious bathrooms. Great water pressure with hot/cold available. The hotel staff is extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The property is beautiful with lovely mountain views.

Welcome drinks nice touch. Rooms were fabulous. Grounds were fabulous. Lunch in restaurant not buffet was great but small portions.. We missed breakfast but staff was nice enough to prepare a to go meal for us!

We stayed at the Altura Hotel. It was amazing beyond words! Can not say enough about this place. We stayed in a 'dome/yurt' and it was beautiful, well appointed and excellent in every sense of the word. Breakfast was included and it was such a treat!

This was a beautiful property. We enjoyed the foliage and flowers and all the little sitting areas. The room was very comfortable and had all of the amenities we required. The only thing that could be improved upon is to have a breakfast selection. It was the same thing every morning.
We were staying in one of the tents which was absoluterly beautiful! The staff is super nice and helpful and the Gallo Pinto for breakfast delicious!
The hotel doesn‘t offer dinner but works with a local food delivery service which delivers the food right to the door step of your room. That was great for when we were really tired. There is a good restaurant in walking distance (ca. 10 minutes) as well.
Great location, excellent staff. We rented the smaller dome and loved it. Incredible views, beautiful area to just sit or hike around the property. Great fire pit at night! Really great variety of accommodations for a small hotel, from domes, containers, cabinas, to more traditional rooms. Sweet, friendly dogs and cats on the property added to the cozy ambiance.
The room is not fancy but very clean. we had a Mountain View room and it was super clean and cute. It had everything we needed. The location is perfect and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful with everything. The restaurant on site is pretty good and we’ll visited by tourists and locals alike. Very good value hotel in Poas.
The dome was so fun to stay in and the family that hosted us was so accommodating!!! They shuttled us to the poas volcano, the la Paz Waterfall, and into alajuela to our next hotel! We ordered food from them night 1 and it was delicious. All around it was a wonderful experience for us and we highly recommend it!
We were particularly pleased by the warm welcome of the staff. They were extremely helpful and took the time to give us advice regarding the rest of our trip. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was very good. We highly recommend this hotel for people who want to visit Poás volcano since it is nearby.
We arrived into San Jose on a late flight, picked-up our rental car and drove to the La Poas area. The hotel staff were lovely, hotel clean and it was exactly what we needed! I think we could have been the only people there, but the staff were very attentive and gave us a great breakfast.
We liked the location. This hotel is located in the middle of the mountains with nice views to the valley with lot of nature around. Breakfast building is very cozy. Facilities in good condition, clean and fully comfortable. Close to Poás volcano, waterfalls and so many other attractions.
It was quiet and at perfect location to visit Poas, still reachable from SJO airport after a long flight.

The cats, dogs and donkeys on the grounds of the Hotel were friendly and enjoyed being petted.
The receptionist lady on the 27th in the evening was extremely nice and welcoming - gracias! The hotel is a good option if you want to stay in this area. We had breakfast included, even tho booking reservation didn’t have it as a highlight
The hotel room actually exceeded our expectations, as it was very cosy and there was even a heater for the chilly night. It’s a perfect base to explore Poas volcano, especially if you are aiming for the early morning slot.
A beautiful hotel in the mountains. The staff is very kind the food was perfect the rooms are clean and homely ! The volcano, the la paz waterfall , the starbucks coffe farm is very near to drive, perfect location !
This is a beautiful hotel that is very private and in a great location. The food was delicious! I very highly recommend Poas Paradise. I hope I can return to stay here again.
