This was our favorite stay in Costa Rica! The room was beautiful and had the most breathtaking view. I loved all the woodwork, the wood ceilings, and the full glass windows in the front. It was so relaxing to sit with a cup of coffee and read while taking in the views.
Jose was the most welcoming host. He was so kind and booked all of our adventures in Monte Verde for us and even quickly changed our schedule when we wanted to spend more time at a venue. He was so easy to communicate with. I has the best massage ever on property.
The property was close to town and all of our excursions. Monte Verde is the most magical place and our very favorite part of Costa Rica. Hotel Tropico was the perfect place to come home to in the evenings. We will be back for sure!!

Prime location to the reserve, walk down the road in the morning or evening to get even more nature/birding in. Great staff- accommodated my airport transfer well, breakfast and dinner were great, comfortable beds. Quiet, away from town.

The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was really nice with a rain shower and beautiful concrete looking tile. Wonderful view of the lawn and trees where we saw agouti, tucans, and other birds. The pool was nicer than the picture on booking.com. It’s large and they really warmed it up during the cool evenings so we could still get in.
