A charming hotel in a peaceful setting and beautifully kept grounds. The staff, particularly Jose, were friendly, helpful and polite. A delicious breakfast was served each morning with a smile plus free tea, coffee and filtered water was available all day long. The beds were comfortable and everywhere was very clean. The veranda was spacious with comfortable seating areas and hammocks. A little far from anywhere, but the local bus to Palomino (about 8km away) runs every 15 mins right past the hotel gate and the gatekeeper will flag it down for you.

Palomino has a reputation for a relaxed place and lifestyle. This is not entirely true as most of the beachfront is built up with fenced off resorts. The quality of the food and cocktails is generally low to average at best. There are nice people, too, of course, but there is very few backpacking/hippie style going on.

This is a great town for beach vibes , good local restaurants and a bit of night life. There are lots of travelers but it isn't too touristy. Still an easy-going beach town. Go now before more tourists find it!
A float down the (shallow) river makes for a fun day and leave some time for some cervezas on the public beach at the end. If you take a motorbike to the trailhead, be prepared to hang on tight and ask for a helmet - health and safety doesn't seem to be a thing here!
Buses are easy to catch on the main road and tuk-tuks/motorbikes can be hired for getting around town, although nothing is too far to walk.
Looking forward to a return to Palomino!

Lovely beach, great for a walk and surfing during our visit in January. Not sure about other times of the year. Plenty of beach front properties offering food and drinks. The town streets are not tarmac, some muddy patches during our stay, no pavement beyond the first block, if you don't use a tuk tuk or motorbike on arrival to your hostel, you are carrying your bag, no wheelie suitcases!! No parking either, if you are driving, check where you can park. Probably a torch in some areas after dark, definitely along areas of the beach, would help and although we stayed away from main town would imagine it gets very lively after dark!
Sorry, but personally, there are too many dogs begging for food, most didn't look starving, think the restaurants may feed them, but I don't like dogs begging at the table. Seems throught South America, its a problem, but really noticed it here, especially with a dog rescue nearby.
Loved our stay here! The staff were lovely and the most accommodating : ) The included breakfast was a great start to the day, the pool was relaxing and our room was spacious with very good A/C. Awesome location with walking distance to both the beach and town. The hotel grounds are spacious and new looking. Looks like this place will be much more developed as time goes on. We were so relaxed here and would love to stay again! Gracias ☺️
The location is super beautiful and quiet, surrounded by nature ( a lot of birds and other animals around), constant sound of the sea was soooo relaxing, swimming pool was also amazing. It was very nuce that this hotel was further from busy Palomino (to Palomino it was only 10min walking distance by the beach) And the staff was brilliant! Very friendly and attentive. We originally booked for two nights but we ended up staying six. We really liked this hotel. The male staff on reception was so friendly and gave us lots of helpful tips and he spoke really good English which was great for us! The free breakfast was good and very tasty. We would definitely stay here if we came to Palomino again! They also have the cutest cat ever! Definitely good value for money.
Fantastic location. My wife and I were so delighted that we chose this hotel. The location is wonderful, right by the beach. All of the huts are immaculately clean and have surprisingly good Wi-Fi throughout the whole resort.
We are both vegetarian and were also very pleased with the options available in the restaurant.

I’m in love with this hostel! The staff was super friendly and helpful, the location was great (specially if you are planning to go tubing at the Palomino River, and to enjoy the beach afterwards). The pool is big and fun, and the hostel has such a great vibe with people from all over the world. Great variety of food, big room and bathrooms… I totally recommend this place!
Actually I needed to place to live for one month, to live work and feel comfortable. I had AC( which is not that necessary in Palomino in April-may, but room without windows, for one month, no way. By the way to stay for weekend or one week is nice, swimming pool area is calm, beautiful, and hotel is close to Selva) it is really nice

Nice hotel in a calm area of palomino, perfect to discover the village from there. The rooms are spacious and clean and the many outside areas are perfect to relax, read, do some yoga or cool down in the pool. Even when we found a big spider in the room at night, the owner was so kind to help us out :)
Casa Colibri Palomino is a wonderful place. The rooms are very clean, and there are several large common spaces. Breakfast was delicious. It is well located close to many cafes and restaurants, and a short walk to the beach. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay!

it is relative more quiet and smaller than the other big hostels so if you want more calm you have found the right place,
the host was really nice and welcoming and gave me lots of good tips
First Selina hostel I liked, maybe because it is quite small and located directly on the beach. very friendly and helpful staff.
Good wifi for Palomino standards, I was able to work without any problems, nice food in the restaurant, some live music, overall relaxed atmosphere. Thaks guys
The facilities it has are really pretty, is silent so you can really go to rest and disconnect of your daily live, the food is good and you can find nearby good places to go, the beach is near of the hostel and is not expensive at all
It was a perfect place to relax and enjoy with friends... we enjoy the private beach and the personal was always taking care of us. It was really close to palomino, so we could visit the town and enjoy some time over there
Awesome spot. Not the best for solo travellers as this feels more like a hotel than a hostel. Nonetheless facilities are amazing and right next to the beach. Certainly not a ‘party hostel’ for those that are concerned
Everything on my stay was very enjoyable. I needed a place to rest and enjoy Palomino and to visit the region and this was it. The vibe that it is a home more than a hotel is great, and the people are excellent
