It's a very nice and safe colonial town in a very pretty area to be in. There are plenty of activities to do in the area and something for everyone. The food is good here but that's all of south America. Goat cheese and coffee seem to be the big items in this area. You can take a nice nature walk called the camino real to a smaller version of barichara called guane. The trail that town is mostly down hill, and you can shorten the walk even more by taking a taxi to a place out of town where the trail crosses the road. The views are very good and the birds and butterflies are everywhere. A bus leaves guane every 45 minutes back.to barichara.
Plenty of adventure tours and more cultural tours like food, and coffee tours.

My favourite town in Colombia, I was supposed to stay 2 nights but added 2 more and could have stayed longer as well. The town is beautiful, people are very nice and welcoming, many amazing restaurants with veggie options as well, and plenty activities to do in the surrounding area.

Barichara is a hidden gem, one of my favorite towns in Colombia! It is a bit difficult to get to (being a 3.5 hour drive from the nearest airport in Bucaramanga), but once you are there is is divine! So clear, well-maintained, safe! There is lots to do, from hiking the Camino Real to various extreme sport excursions (paragliding, canyoning, white water rafting, etc.). But you could also just relax and meander through this charming town which feels like it is from another century. There are so many amazing restaurants, and the service is top-notch. We have visited Barichara twice now and would love to come again.

it was an excellent new experience in a Glampin. The city of Barichara is one of the most beautiful I have seen in Latin America, the Hotel Nativo Glamplin is excellent, the weather fantastic the food... the only negative issue, more than 7 hours by car from Bogota.

Barichara is a very pretty and safe town small town. There are plenty of restaurants, hotels, and shops but it could use a few more points of interest. ( the paper “factory “ is great) Every person I had contact with was very pleasant, patient,and professional. It is a 100% tourism driven town and they do it right.
The Tuc-Tucs are a great way to get around town.
Be sure to take in the view from the Mirador.
If you walk El Camino Real be sure to stop at “ the juice house !”
Hotel Casa Betel is a hidden gem in Barichara. Close (easy walking distance) to the main plaza, but far enough away that you don't get the tourist and backpacker crowd walking past your door at all hours. Very quiet location in a beautiful residential neighborhood. Easy access by car of moto-taxi. Very friendly and professional staff. The property looks like it's brand new. Super clean. Warm and inviting. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Loved the fresh fruit bowl to start and the fresh baked bread was fantastic.
Our room was large and spacious with a huge balcony. The price was unbelievably low! The family who hosted our stay at the Posada, was wonderful. Everything was perfect. We are hikers and it is located along the Camino Real which is an amazing pathway weaving itself along the mountains. Be sure to visit the village of Guane and of course Barrichara along the route of the Camino. We both felt that this was the best stay of our trip to Colombia
A beautifully decorated hotel with amazing views. The room was spacious and the bed was huge. Breakfast was really nice, eggs arepa fresh juice hot drink and fruit (however when travelling for longer it’s exactly the same as most hotels, so some variation like yoghurt with granola would have been really nice).
the hotel is situated on top of a hill, you have to walk 5 minutes in the dark at night to go into the town, but it is very safe!
Everything was excellent. The size of the Villa, the spacious bedrooms, the kitchen and living room area was great. very nice to get away from the town. only 7 minutes from Barichara. The jacuzzi was excellent. There is always a nice breeze. Very nice view of Barichara. The villas are in a hill. I loved everything. I truly recommend it. Excellent water pressure nice hot water. Wifi very good. Nice and calm complex.
I loved my stay at Casa Nacuma! The beds were comfortable and clean and the included breakfast was a great way to start the morning. Camilo is so kind and helpful and will answer any questions you have about the area, activities or Colombia in general. The hostel had such a cozy vibe and was located in a very convenient spot in Barichara. The value for your money is great overall! Thanks so much Camilo!
It's a small paradise just outside of Barichara, surrounded by luscious greenery and spectacular views. Very quiet and peaceful. A lovely terrace where you can sit and enjoy the views or a drink. There's a small pool if you feel like cooling off from the midday heat. It's a 15 minute walk to the centre of the village, but the views and the air are totally worth it. Very relaxing place
A great apartment, large comfortable and clean. Nice little kitchen, washing machine and a lovely garden with a small but adequate pool and lounging area. Maria was an excellent host, helped us with everything and was very friendly and chatty. Great quiet location and close enough to town. Great terrace outside the room.
We loved the hotel location, just a short walk from the town square. The hotel is very quiet, with lovely gardens and terraces. The breakfast was 'made to order' and was ample, tasty and nicely presented. We did not get a chance to use the pool but it looked very inviting.
People in the hotel are amazing! They received us like their family. The room was great, the parking lot is covered, the breakfast was amazing and homemade, and we could keep our bags after the checkout to know Barichara. I highly recommend this hotel.
