The Dong Fang was the most amazing hotel of my 12 day trip in China. I visited for 3 different hotels. We arrived at about 3am but.got a very warm welcome with pleasant staff. Rooms are spacious with spacious bathrooms.

Good food a plenty. Beijing Lu pedestrian walk is good to shop, eat and learn some history. Visited their zoo and spent long time admiring their giant panda Xing Yi and Ya Yi with admission ticket at RMB20 only. Rainy season and hamper some travel plans. Road to Fashion Tienhe was terribly jammed due to 6.1 and rain. Fashion Tienhe was huge, funny but packed with people! Best mode of transport is metro lines, or hire a DiDi if you travel in a group of 4 (which could be cheaper per pax compared to taking the metro line).

Guangzhou was my city for 14 years, and it still feels like home to me. Returning is always a pleasure, so I might be a bit biased when writing a review. However, Guangzhou is a city that truly deserves a visit, whether for tourism or business, which is often the main reason people go there. Its rich culture, vibrant food scene, and dynamic business environment make it an excellent destination for any traveler.

Beautiful city full of restaurants at every street corner , the people are on the move and everyone is hustling. Language is a barrier since everyone speaks only Mandarin, you always have to have the translator app. The food is nice but the cakes are nicer - they make the most amazing cakes.

It's been 5 years since last there and the City has turned green with gardens and mature trees everywhere. Even the overbridges have plantings.
Traffic was better than expected. English translations everywhere making it easy to get around.
Food and food availability unbelievably good.
I travel into Guangzhou by ferry direct from HK airport. Its a stunning way to see the place. Cheaper too.
Guangzhou is very beautiful city. The location of the hotel is in the center of Guangzhou. The landmark of the Guangzhou Tower is near the hotel, and there are many western restaurants around it. Among them, my favorite Turkish restaurant is just 500 meters away from the hotel, during the meeting there are shuttle bus to the exhibition center, really convenient, the room is very clean, there are very large windows, the front desk staff is very friendly, there are problems I will ask them to help, very warm!
We love the Hotel :) It was very worth it for the price. If you are looking for a good budget friendly hotel you can book this one. Free Bottled Water is available and you can take as much as you want (reasonably ofcourse )

Hotel's location is good. Close to many eateries and cafes. I found a halal place nearby. Good area for walking. Staff was very professional and cooperative though they had language limitations but still they were able to understand basic English. The front office guy gifted me a small rechargeable fan upon check out which was a very kind gesture by the hotel. Free shuttle for Canton fair saved me an extra 200 to 300 RMB
Great location close to the Canton Fair, and with a great shuttle, the room is also spacious and very well decorated. They have A LOT of complimentary beverages: water, tea and great coffee, juices… both at reception and at the room. They also have a free laundry place, which is very convenient when you go there for several days. Special thanks to Kitty, she is the most helpful and kind person we’ve ever met in a hotel.
The hotel is located near to the metro station and is a few minutes walk as described by many of the reviewer. The hotel is located in front of a busy streets with restaurants servings various food from parts of China, hair saloons and a bar beside the hotel entrance for those who like a drink. Checking in and out is a breeze and the room is clean with toilet amenities. The bed is generally soft and comfy.
Great location just next to Tianhe area and city center of Guangzhou! Excellent hotel and very friendly and helpful staff, especially Front Desk and Concierge teams. Room is very spacious for a five-star hotel. Fabulous bathroom facilities including a bath tub. Lobby lounge have a live piano music during afternoon too. This is more like a resort hotel in Middle of GZ. Nice & relaxing but close to everything including Canton Fair. On island in the river. There is a great running track all the way along so you can keep fit without running through town. Nice bar & free flow from 6pm. Shuttle bus to exhibition. Not cheap - but it will be my hotel of choice from now on..
The room size n the amenities in the room . The staff at reception. The Chinese restaurants serve reasonably good food at affordable prices. The short walking distance to Taojin metro station for easy travel to the city center and canton tower. Good supply of mineral water for guests in the room n reception area.
Location was the key! It was at the heart of the city surrounded by two shopping malls and numerous restaurants featuring various cuisines for different taste buds and budget.
There was the Pearl river and the famous Guangzhou TV tower right in front of the hotel, where the evening/night scene was spectacular.
This was a very expensive hotel due to the canton fair. Its proximity to the fair is good but that was about all.
Much better off staying at the Four Seasons and catching the bus to the fair each day. Better price and a fair superior hotel.

Reception was prompt and courteous。Hotel was located adjacent to a major shopping area with many restaurants. The subway system to the airport is five minutes walking distance. But the hotel offers free shuttle to the airport and the driver was exceptionally courteous.
Hotel is modern and maintained well. Breakfast is exceptional. Dinner in the Cantonese Michelin restaurant was also outstanding. Facilities are good. Beds were comfy. The location is right in the middle of the financial district. 50 minutes drive from the airport.
The location was spot on, right in the busy city centre of Guangzhou. No taxis necessary to commute throughout the city. Plenty of Halal restaurants and fast food chains for those who don’t like traditional Chinese food.
The breakfast is excellent with great Cantonese Dim Sum and basic western breakfast. The staff are friendly too. The view from the room is fantastic, great location with many eateries and attractions around the hotel.
location good regarding being in a residential area and good access to food and only a 15min walk to the metro with easy access to Airport and city. Bus to Canton Fair was helpful and made stress free transport.
