The few days we had here were incredible. The host Niki is such a great guy, he was helpful with anything we needed, and he arranged the Teking snorkelling day trip for us, which we highly recommend too. The location is right on the beach, and we utilised the free kayak rental every day. The property is very quiet, but there are several close food options nearby, so it was still convenient enough. Do yourself a favour and book here!

Paparei is a lovely low key friendly convenient and very scenic and pleasant location. My favourite things were sitting on the deck watching the heron stalking fish, the chickens clucking around and the locals coming down to enjoy the water. I also enjoyed the antics of the common mynas even though the are an introduced species they are very charismatic. I also loved the adjacent Cafe Wokkai! 2 minutes to fish and chips I could bring back to eat on the deck?! Yes please!!

Ned & Greta were impressive. Ned didn't just pick us up from the airport, he gave us a tour of our area pointing out the best places to eat and he was right in every case. His suggestions were on the mark for quality and value. He also recommended various activities, all of which we did and that made out stay at Aitutaki so awesome and memorable that we have already decided to fit it in our already busy travel schedule. Ned made himself available at all times with a private line to his home and mobile. He even organised a cultural experience with front and center seats. The man is awesome. Our linen was changed every two days, with new and bright colours. The room was large, new with a king sized bed and the shared kitchen and bathroom facilities cleaned regularly. My wife generally prefers 5 star accommodation. She enjoyed her stay more, possibly because it gave us access to other travelers and the local community. You are a legend, Ned. You made our stay like a second honeymoon. Possibly the best Booking.com accommodation we've used due, to the outstanding service:)
Everyone on the island is very welcoming and very helpful.
Everyone on the island is very welcoming and very helpful.
We went on a lagoon cruise with Kia Orana Cruise and had a great time. We visited lots of the islands in the lagoon and also went snorkeling at two different sites. There are other cruise companies and some have much bigger boats and can take about 40 people. The cruise we chose had only 4 people on it so we could visit the tiny islands without the big crowds.
It is worth bearing in mind that this is a small island and everything must be imported from Rarotonga which in turns imports a lot from NZ. It's not extremely cheap but the views and the people make it all worth it.
Everything was perfect, from the welcoming, till the end. So superb friendly hosts, with a lot of attention to your needs and the best recommendations. Superb and spacious bungalow with beach view, for romantic breakfast or dinner with sunset. Great private tour around the lagoon. Available kayak for enjoying the lagoon in front of the bungalow. Don't go for any luxury hotel, just book Tai Marino.
The exceptional welcome was honestly the best travel experience I’ve ever had - you are looked after here more than in a 5 star hotel! From a complementary airport pickup with complementary breakfast, coffee, fruit, bikes etc etc these guys deserve the biggest tip - they work so hard to ensure their guests are happy , it’s really special. I will be forever grateful at the welcome we received
We had a great time at Sunny Beach Lodge when we stayed there for 1 week in October. Centrally located on the island, close to Amuri town. Supermarket and drinking water station are across the road.
Niki is a fantastic host, doing his best to give his guests a wonderful stay. Sunny Beach Lodge felt like a warm community, we had so many lovely neighbours!
Again, meitaki mata Niki!
