Ideal location, not too far from the train station. We started all of our walks from the hotel which was very convenient. Beautiful views from our room. The owners were very polite and friendly. Our breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal there also. We will definitely return.

Great quality for price. Room was simple but very clean and comfy. Staff was lovely and very helpful. I also had questions ahead of travel and they answered them all promptly. Breakfast was everything I could have wanted to prepare me for a lond day hiking.

Weissbad Lodge is a lovely place, casual, with reduced service but excellent very modern and comfortable rooms just adjacent to the Weissbad train station and not far from the town of Appenzell and the the Ebenalp and Hoher Kasten cable cars. It is a lovely tranquil area to spend a few days. Especially innovative is the breakfast delivered in a paper bag to your door in the morning and the Generosity Wall which has a coffee machine, a snack machine, a microwave , utensils etc. to make your stay more pleasant. The main Hof Weissbad hotel is nearby and available for for first class restaurant meals as is the really fine Alpenhof family restaurant just across the small river that runs by the lodge. It should be noted that the Appenzell Card is a terrific free offer for guests who stay three nights in the canton: it includes train travel from anywhere in Switzerland, free local public transport entrance to a number of museums and other attractions as well as cable car rides. Really a special deal.

We visited the Äscher Wildkirchli, mountain restaurant with magnificent panoramic views. The cable car to the top of the mountain was a kind of adventure (when you are scared of height!) but brings you to an high altitude where you can start several hikes. Appenzell is a beautiful very special little town and very nearby.
Seems like a family run hotel. Despite not speaking English, they were very hospitable and we really do recommend it. The rooms are nice, spotlessly clean as are bathrooms. Very charming dining room, good continental breakfast. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel. The hotel is sit apart from the main street which is nice and has a nice outdoors which we didn't get to use because it was raining. Nice country views from the top most floor which is where our room was (walk up)
I have stayed in the property for many many times and it was always great. The hotel rooms are newly renovated and it is clear that the owners are constantly improving the property and thinking of guests staying there. What is really exceptional is the restaurant run by the owner himself - the food is really extraordinary there (not only typical Swiss cuisine, but also international on amazing level). The breakfast is superb and so it the view from the windows.
Modern, clean, and great facilities for your use. All staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were able to park our car in an underground garage, do some laundry, and the breakfast was nice to fuel us for our hike in the Appenzell mountains. Would recommend for families-our room had a crib for our one month old and a single bed for our three year old. It was also very nice to have a bathtub in the room for bathing the children.
This property is amazing, I didn't expect such a big hotel and the one of this quality. Everything is great and really thought out. Great breakfast, great sauna, great restaurant (if the chef works up mains a bit, I really see Michelin star for them in the future, the starters are already there, btw). Great bar with live music. Tea and water and fruits are available 24 h on every floor. Honestly, everything was perfect.
The hotel was a 5 min drive from Wasserauen which was ideal for hiking. The room we were staying in was a good size with comfortable beds. The shower was small but it had great water pressure. There was a nice restaurant across the road at the top of the hill I'd recommend called Hotel Restaurant Belvedere. The breakfast was included and it was very good!

The breakfast arrangement with the preordered bag delivered to the door at 07:15 and good coffee available in the lounge was very well done. The Lodge was located only 100 meters from the Weissbad train station. The room was well furnished and very comfortable. We had a quick stay at the Weissbad Lodge after a long hike and it was just what we needed. We also walked over to the Hof Weiss Hotel across the street to have a nice cocktail. The room was comfortable and enough room for two people and the breakfast bag we received in the morning was nice!
Hotel is located in calm area, on the hill, from some rooms there is nice view to the town and green fields. Room is compact, for short stay is fine. Breakfast is ok, not wide range of food. There is restaurant inside, dinner was good. Parking is available for free.
