Whether it was the Hotel or Booking.com when we arrived they had messaged us to tell us that reception would only be open between 4pm & 6pm but weren’t told that when we booked. Also the restaurant was closed we weren’t told that. So we had to go into town all night as we were the only people in the hotel, no staff nothing opened & the smallest room in the world.
They gave us a key for the front door and to our room.
However it was clean and the guy that greeted us was very nice and informative. The view in the morning from our hotel window was breathtaking.
But if we had known that we were the only people in the hotel with no staff & all closed we would not have booked.

We were treated with great warmth and care in the Locanda Marco. Personal yet discrete service, comfy cool room with great pillows, wonderful food and wine recommendations and a very special breakfast room and poached egg! Loved the outdoor seating for the evening meal and feel so grateful for having been made to feel so special and welcomed. We’ll be back and we highly recommend!

I was surprised to find the hotel was 5 miles up a winding mountain road as I thought I was booking a hotel in Bellinzona itself, but the drive was worth it for the stunning views from the hotel and the peaceful surroundings. Very friendly welcome from the owners. The drive up is however not for the faint hearted.
The location was stunning, the place very friendly, owner-run, totally understated and cozy-beautiful.
We managed to get a freshly cooked dinner at nearly 10pm when we arrived with three sleepy kids. The views from the hotel are amazing.

The view from the hotel was amazing, right on the valley and the mountains. The host was very friendly and helpful, and had good sense of humor. The breakfast was very good with some fresh eggs and fruits. The place also has a nice atmosphere. It is really a location for nature lovers.
