Excellent hotel in Lugano, up on a hill with a great view of the town and the lake. We received a free upgrade to a suite with two balconies, in a great condition. There was a swimming pool and a very nice bar on the same floor. There is a nice Italian restaurant within walkin distance. We loved the place!

The Pestalozzi Hotel was conveniently located near the center of Lugano. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern and very comfortable. The breakfast had many choices and was very good. I would recommend this hotel highly to travelers.

Very friendly staff... we felt like we are home away from home. They gave us visitor pass to visit the town. There's a lift train close by. Location is perfect. We will stay again if we happen to revisit Ticino.

The hotel is situated in a small mountain village with great views but twisty roads. The room was spacious enough for one with a large en-suite which had a good shower. There is a restaurant which was very busy and the food was excellent. Breakfast was continental with a decent choice. The staff were pleasant, friendly and very helpful. I’d happily stay here again.
I spent 2 nights in Hotel il Castagno with my wife and my dog. Our stay was amazing. Comfortable bed, cosy and clean room. Restaurant was absolutely 10/10. Saddle of venison (Rehrücken) everybody has to try. Stuff and service also 10/10. We come back.
