Charming old hotel in a beautiful village. We had a room with shower inside the room and a shared toilet on the floor, was which was manageable for one night. The room and the entire place was clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel has a very nice restaurant for dinner and served an excellent breakfast for CHF 10.
Surrounded by a large garden, this 2-star hotel dating from 1901 has been family-owned for 4 generations. It is located at the entrance to Evolène in the Valais Alps.

We had a pleasure of staying 2 nights at the Hotel Hermitage when doing the Walker's Haute route. It is a wonderful place enchanting in its antiquity. A small family-run hotel that preserves the vibes of old times. The building itself is more like a museum, and feels strangely alive and extremely friendly. Exqusite interiors and warm welcoming from the charming host lady added to our experience there.

Very spacious and thoughtfully laid out property. Five double bedrooms and 3 large bathrooms plus a sauna. Superb dining area for family or group to use for planning climbs in the area. Well equipped kitchen and proximity to centre of Evolene make this a first class choice. Excellent value for money.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was gorgeous with a balcony and the bar was really nice downstairs. We had an evening meal here and the food was great.

Beautiful town, stunning location , easy to get to , regular bus service, mountains , river walks , breathtaking flowers , friendly people. For me a perfect place and everything you could want for a well kept rural town with amenities in a low key non showy way .

My aim was to escape the city rate race, so I decided to visit, hike & take photos of the Lac Blue & the charming village of Evolène & Dent Blanche. Which was a worthwhile idea to mentally relax, listen to my self and enjoy the silence of my solitude.
A couple of pints with a wood oven Pizza from the restaurant downstairs were the highlight of my Saturday evening after a shattered hike.
Driving to Evolène was easy & straight forward, all I had to do was to click on booking location link which took me right away to Google map then I listened to GPS instructions where I found myself at the door step after the exact suggested GPS travel time. It couldn't be easier.
Two things I have regretted, 1) to stay longer than 2 days & 2) to get my self Nordic stick when it comes mountain hiking & tricking.

Very quaint little town with a lot of character. No ski lifts in town, but very well located to visit the areas of Evolene, Arolla, La Forclaz and Les Quatres Vallées (Les Masses). Very relaxed atmosphere.
Pension d'Evolène is a really beautifully inn that makes you feel like you've entered a different dimension (the whole of Evolène does!); it feels familiar and at the same time magical. I just loved my stay there, and wished it could have been more than one night.
Perfect location right in the centre of Evolene, only a few metres away from two fabulous restaurants. Lovely terrace with beautiful views. Owner Christophe very helpful recommending a lovely restaurant ( Eden ) and good challenging walks with amazing scenery.
Katherine is a wonderful host. The location in Evolene is perfect - a wonderful village and lots to do and see in the area. The breakfast was great. The local miel/honey was a real treat.
