Salmo is a very small and unassuming sort of place.

Salmo is a very small and unassuming sort of place. It is easy to walk around the streets and parks to enjoy the quiet and lovely environment. Nonetheless there are enough services to provide most of what any traveller would need - a range of eating options, a couple of grocery stores, several bank machines, and a few gift and curio shops. It is located nicely for access to skiing, bike trails and Nelson. No visit to Salmo is complete without a must-do visit to the Dragonfly Cafe...amazing food, cozy dining, great patio out back, lovely staff, and, incidentally...an art gallery.

Salmo is small, quaint and unpretentious...very ‘real’.

Salmo is small, quaint and unpretentious...very ‘real’. It’s a lovely town to walk around. The residents take obvious pride in their town. The people at the motel, the Dragonfly Cafe, and the ‘one’ gas station...we’re all very friendly. It’s also in the centre of beautiful recreation and scenery landscapes. I strongly recommend dining at the Dragonfly...the food, ambience, artwork and staff are truly genuine and warm.
