This town is small, and does not have a lot of amenities. We enjoyed the Nikkei Memorial Centre, and walked through the Kohan Reflection Gardens. We saw a beautiful RV campsite right by the water. Only the one choice for sit down meals. A drive to Sandon (half-hour) was interesting and well worth the trek.

Great location and price with vey attentive staff.
Great location and price with vey attentive staff. Make sure you arrive early as facilities are shut down after a period of low activity. We arrived late after the restaurant closed but were able to get a room service meal provided with beverages. New Denver

The walking trail is exceptional - lots of poo-bag dispensers and garbage cans, public washrooms for people - other municipalities could take an example. New Denver is a beautiful town in an amazing location. I will be going back

This town is very cute but has almost zero in the way of dining options. We had to buy a pre-made sandwich at the grocery store. Even the grocery store wouldn't make us a fresh sandwich. Nothing open before 8 am for breakfast. Not very convenient.

It's a beautiful little mountain town on the shores of Arrow Lake. There are lots of walking paths, and a large Japanese garden on the waterfront and Japanese Internment museum worth seeing. Also try its Garlic Festival held every fall.

We were in New Denver to attend the Garlic Festival which we thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side and we didn't see as much of New Denver itself as we would have wished, so I cannot comment about the town itself.
What a really nice place to stay. The staff are very friendly and obliging. The room was good, although some one had walked in with gravel on there shoes. So needed vacuuming. But it was clean and comfortable. The on site restaurant had good food, again the staff very friendly. I didn't use it, but there is a bar adjoining the hotel as well. Then there's the town so nice, 5 minutes walk to the lake. Plenty of places to walk or cycle. I'll be back.
The staff was very nice. There was a sign on the front door asking us to wear masks but when they greated us at the front desk neither people were wearing one. It’s an older hotel and input opinion overpriced but new Denver is extremely limited for accommodations. There is no wifi in the rooms and the TV reception was like snow- we wanted to watch the Olympics and we couldn’t on our computer or the tv so that was a bummer.
Valhalla Inn booked this room through Bookings.com without my permission. The booking was for the next day, and when I called to tell them that I did not book this room and to cancel, they insisted that I had already stayed there. I guess I can time travel and be in two places at one. They are dishonest. If you want to stay at a hotel that lies and cheats to get extra income, be my guest, but I would stay very far away.
The Inn is an older building, but the rooms were clean, and the beds comfortable. The main surprise was the restaurant attached to the Inn that was excellent for breakfast lunch and dinner. The staff of the Valhalla were very personable and we enjoyed our interactions with them. Wonderful gem for a place the size of New Denver.
Older hotel that has seen better days. Well kept and clean, just older and unrenovated. Exceptionally friendly staff, family run. Very good food, and the best deal for miles in any direction. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
Hotel was very clean and pleasant staff, but the price was quite high compared to more modern hotels in the West Kootenays. Restaurant was good, but you have to request the extra menu to order chinese food.
There was a restaraunt and gas station nearby. It was a nice stay, and taking pets is always good. There isnt much to do in new denver, but it is close to the downtown there is.
Simple but very pleasant hotel. I was really impressed with the food in the restaurant. All the sauces for the Chinese food are home made and delicious. Dinner was a treat!
the Valhalla inn is a little gem. such lovely people working there. the inn has been maintained in a 60’s style of decor. it is spotlessly clean and comfortable.
