The place was advertised as 1 minute to the beach - it actually took 20 minutes by car.
The place was advertised as serving breakfast - if you wanted to have breakfast you had to go off property across the bridge to as small but very good independent restaurant.
The place was described as scenic - yes it was on the Mersey river but right on a main road and across the road from a working dockyard.
The photo of one of the rooms on your website looked bright and cheerful - ours was dark and dingy - if you closed the curtains when you were in your room it was dark and the only source apart from the light in the bathroom was one small bedside light on a bedside table.
The placed was a very dated dump.

We arrived and everything told to us on the phone was a lie.
We arrived and everything told to us on the phone was a lie. Two pools, NO. Both were closed. The boats & bikes were all locked up..
So we were in Liverpool for approximately 2 hours . We left after being lied too.

Stumbled upon Carters Beach.
Beautiful area.
Stumbled upon Carters Beach.
Magnificent beach.
GORGEOUS WHITE Sand...
UNLIKE any other we have found in N.S.
Similiar to a Tropical Island. The sand does not stick to your feet its so fine almost like powder.
There were't 10 people on the entire beach.
Great beach with a short board walk if anyone has mobility issues.
Well worth a visit to the area.
That's why we came on a staycation in our Beautiful province.
We feel it should be a "protected area"
Not allowing Anything to compromise this beautiful little piece of paradise.

On the coast and the Lighthouse Route, Liverpool has many similarities to its UK namesake, the River Mersey, with a bridge over it, some ship building albeit on a much smaller scale.
There is a pleasant harbour walk with grey seals in the bay and Fort Point Lighthouse which is a delight, worth a visit.
The hotel is interesting for historical reasons, as the old home of a famous privateer. The location is good, and the back rooms get little traffic noise. Staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was a pleasant place for Sunday breakfast with big windows, a nice view, and groups of locals drifting in. Breakfast itself was average - not bad but nothing special. I would have loved to attend the Irish music nights they host, but wasn't there on the right days.
The location is great, sitting alongside of the Mersey River, within easy walking to Old Town Liverpool. We chose Privateers Inn over the chain hotel due to its proximity to the Astor Theatre enabling us to walk to dinner and then a concert. Our room was clean and comfortable but a little worn. The towels were big and fluffy, the king bed comfortable as well. Our room rate was very reasonable, but it was also still off season.
Beautiful building with old furniture and Victorian style decor. The host was very nice and easy to contact. The room was clean and comfortable. In the morning we were served a delicious full English breakfast at our requested time. Highly recommended for people, who appreciate the design of the Victorian era and like to visit beaches, nature and everything else that Liverpool provides.
The hotel seems very new and the facilities are fresh and updated. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast area was very spacious and the food was great. They have a deluxe coffee machine that makes lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, etc. which is a nice touch. The room was clean, cool, and comfortable.
Hotel and room are full of old world charm, bed is super comfy, king room is large and has everything you could want for a short stay incl. mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and iron. Great location on the water and close to walking trails and town centre. Restaurant on site was great with wonderful service.
shower had good pressure, restaurant had good food and the location of the hotel was right down town in the heart of Liverpool. Nothing more good to say
