We loved the mountain chic ambience of the hotel - from the ski lift bench outside, to the cozy lounge areas, to the artisan tree soap. The sauna and breakfast spread were fantastic. We will certainly be back next time we are in the area!
An outdoor hot tub and BBQ facilities are featured at this Kimberley motel. A microwave and fridge are provided in each guest room. Free Wi-Fi is included. Kimberley Alpine Resort is 5 km away.

After driving 4 hours to get to Cranbrook and waiting 2 hours at the hospital all we wanted to do was check into our hotel but nope, after paying online for the room, we were told very rudely to go home. All because we didn't have a credit card for the damage deposit. Really? I paid in full for the room and was given a confirmation number. I also phoned the manager just to confirm tthat the room was paid for to which she explained my reservation all looks good and that we shouldn't have any problems. My point is if my Visa/debit card wasn't good enough to pay the damage deposit then they should not have taken out any payment for the room.

This is my old hometown and I enjoyed refreshing the memories. Mostly I liked the people. Kimberley is in a beautiful setting and those who live there are kind and friendly. The Larix Hotel is a fabulous place to stay with outstanding decor and art to make the experience even more memorable!

It was great to be in the town I grew up in (my family moved shortly after I left home when I finished school).
It is great to see the improvements since I left, makes me think of moving back.
All of the town was walking distance from our accommodation, several small beer places, food services and enjoyable walks (all the servers for food and beer etc were very friendly. And live deer everywhere!! I was walking one morning and almost bumped into one, it still didn't take a step, just looked at me. Later another was so still I would have thought it was a statue.
It is easy to get around walking, and when driving there are often two or more ways to get anywhere.
I hope the road repairs have been completed next time I'm back.

wonderful place to visit in any season!
wonderful place to visit in any season! Walking around downtown and the Platzl was great. Only disappointment was most places closed Monday and Tuesdays. I do understand they need time off too but still disappointing.

Nice little town with pleasant views and good people.
Nice little town with pleasant views and good people. Downtown from our hotel was 3mins drive. The falls are a must see and the golf club is a pleasant place to enjoy a drink but the service was not so great and prices were a bit steep. We enjoyed rock climbing, a visit to the ice cream shop and the falls. The Wasa Lake Provincial Park was a nice day trip for us.

This is a lovely town with great recreational options.
This is a lovely town with great recreational options. We biked part way to Cranbrook on the North Star Trail.
The downtown is nice for dining and shopping. There are a ton of golf courses.
The people working in the hotel and restaurants were very friendly.
Great experience!!
The location is great. We were staying in the summer so it was nice to have the greenery off the deck in the mornings and watch the deer eat 10 ft away from us:-) the property has everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. It honestly felt like borrowing a friend's cabin for the week and just enjoying the stay. The owners are exceptionally responsive and friendly. And we would recommend their little town home to anyone looking for good value at the mountain.
clean and quiet. Easy to find and right along the highway. amazingly still quiet. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. asked for a recommendation about the best local pizza place in town and their recommendation was spot on. if you are ever in Kimberly try Grubstake Pizza. I highly recommend the Apple Pie Pizza just like the staff at the hotel did.
our stay at Alpenglow exceeded our expectations. Our hosts were warm and friendly, our breakfasts were delicious and our room very comfortable, clean and private. The location was quiet and convenient for walking into downtown Kimberley or driving to the nearby golf courses. We highly recommend this place to stay.
A huge thank you to our hostess and host.
we’ll appointed boutique hotel with all the comforts. breakfast was exactly what was described, continental and just right to get my day started, the bedding was fabulous, staff were excellent, and location was a short walk to the Platzl for great shopping and trendy awesome restaurants. and the ski hill was just a 5 min drive. what more could you want.
Very comfortable and nice decorated and furnished hotel. Public areas with fireplaces and comfortable chairs and couches. Coffee, tea, fresh drinks, cookies for free. Very nice (but small bedrooms, compensated by great public areas), with good queensize bed, lovely towels. Fresh strawberries and salmon at breakfast.
very comfortable set up. kitchen and living room with great TV and Internet. the newly renovated bathroom was beautiful and sparkling clean
the kitchen was VERY well equipped. I slept on the hideabed in the living room very comfortable. quiet as this is up by the ski hill about a 7 minute drive from downtown
Beautiful location in the Rocky Mountains, close to town and lots of nearby activities. On the mountain, can ski in and out. Well stocked with lots of spices and items you did not expect but might need. Roads were well groomed and safe. Loved the Platzl. Great for our family. Loved the hot tub.
The location of the hotel is waking distance to Trickle Creek golf And ski lifts are right outside the door.
There is a restaurant/bar in the hotel. Ample free parking. There is a fireplace and a super cold air conditioner.
The veiws are great from any room.
everything - the hotel was spacious, clean, provided washer and dryer ( which was a blessing after a week of road trip), beds very comfortable, full kitchen, pool (small but perfect), hot tub was out of order but you could use it as a small pool.
The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, the maintenance at this hotel is amazing. You cannot catch up on maintenance later, this is an ongoing labour of love. Very cool stay. So glad we chose to stay here, will stay again.
The location is perfect - super close to the ski hill and an easy drive to the downtown area.
Anja and Theo were super hosts, very accommodating and helpful.
Breakfast was to die for.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay at Kimberley.
