The Amsterdam was a big surprise; located almost midway between Halifax and Montreal, it's a great place to sleep over if you don't feel like driving 10 to 11 hours non-stop. It's not a luxury hotel but it's efficient, clean, good size rooms with all of the basics including a fridge, good towels, etc. The hotel is only 3 years old and yet shows no signs of wear and tear. The adjoining restaurant it also very nice, comfortable and has a good menu. Both our supper and free breakfast were very good and tasted "home made". They also have a snack bar in the lobby for those with the munchies. Super friendly staff too.

Everything was very nice except for being given a key for the wrong room, one floor above, which was not made up. However, the mistake was quickly and graciously rectified

The room we had was very large and because the bathroom was between the two queen sized beds the distance between the beds meant that if one of us was snoring the other was protected from the noise.

You will thank me for this recommendation at this wonderful Inn. Not only is it clean and modern it has history and charm to it that they managed to preserve. I can't say enough about my stay. The owners were so friendly. I went away feeling I just gained new friends as well.
The bedroom I stayed in reminded me of being in a cottage. SO cozy and the view was lovely overlooking the valley. The bed very comfortable and facilities exactly what you would need.
Breakfast (fantastic full breakfast if you wanted) and delivered to the common space. I was asked when I needed to be on my way and so she made sure I had my breakfast, time to chat and away I went!
Note: only one restaurant in the town, but it is very good. Not sure the hours (in case you arrive later)

The Covered Bridge Bed and Breakfast was very convenient to a few stores and food across the covered bridge. We didn't;t stay long enough to get very well acquainted with Hartland. We wish we could have stayed longer.
