Breakfast was good we had all that we needed.
But the closing time of 9am was a little early! by the time I had swam it was tight to get to the restuarant in time.
I am travelling for pleasure so do not have the need to be up at the crack of dawn to make sure I have time to eat Breakfast.

Fernie is boring compared to Alberta.
Fernie is boring compared to Alberta. Landscape nothing special. Fernie itself has not very much. I think its only viable for a visit if you like snowboarding - I visited in August and it was dull! Wish I'd left it out of my itinery

Fernie is a great mountain town in South-Eastern British Columbia. It is driveable from Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta and has great hiking, mountain biking and nature tourism facilities around the town.
Hotels are on the expensive side, though they tend to be booked-solid during the weekends and holidays in summer. There are a variety of restaurants to cater to all kinds of taste and budgets in the city.
Public transportation is vestigial at best. It is better to be on your own transportation. It is highly recommended to bring your own bicycle. The town is small enough to be fully explorable by bike.

It's a very picturesque town mainly focused at the footsteps of mountains for winter activity and hiking in summer. We were here during early spring and the pathways can be a bit muddy as you hike higher. Nonetheless, would love to be here again.
We did the fairy Creek falls hike and visited Mt. Fernie Provincial Park. Lots to do here if you are a nature lover. The drive is beautiful with a small downtown full of eateries and shopping places. Also has variety of dine in options including a steak place just on the main road. It has almost everything that you can ask for in a small town.

Fernie has made a successful transition from a mining town to a destination outdoor recreation center (biking, skiing, climbing, fishing, etc.). Its historic main street has a good variety of small, locally owned businesses with good food and drink, sports shops, and general retail. The people are friendly and very helpful.

We loved the whole experience.
We loved the whole experience. The skiing, of course, is always fantastic, but so was Griz Days (the whole town gets involved). We also attended a sold out Ghostriders playoff game that was really electric and enjoyed some of Fernie's food/restaurant offerings that really compete with the calibre you'd get in any large city.
Stanford resort is a definite go to for my family. It’s a wonderful way to meet up and reconnect and the staff is so accommodating and incredibly friendly. Thank you for helping us make such great memories
