It's a very picturesque town mainly focused at the footsteps of mountains for winter activity and hiking in summer. We were here during early spring and the pathways can be a bit muddy as you hike higher. Nonetheless, would love to be here again. We did the fairy Creek falls hike and visited Mt. Fernie Provincial Park. Lots to do here if you are a nature lover. The drive is beautiful with a small downtown full of eateries and shopping places. Also has variety of dine in options including a steak place just on the main road. It has almost everything that you can ask for in a small town.

Fernie has made a successful transition from a mining town to a destination outdoor recreation center (biking, skiing, climbing, fishing, etc.). Its historic main street has a good variety of small, locally owned businesses with good food and drink, sports shops, and general retail. The people are friendly and very helpful.

took a walk downtown Fernie where there are some nice little shops and very friendly folks operating them. had a great meal at the Brick House... definitely much more than i expected going into what is billed as a Pub and Grill.

    We loved the whole experience.

We loved the whole experience. The skiing, of course, is always fantastic, but so was Griz Days (the whole town gets involved). We also attended a sold out Ghostriders playoff game that was really electric and enjoyed some of Fernie's food/restaurant offerings that really compete with the calibre you'd get in any large city.

Fernie has great and plenty of accommodations but with many many construction workers and it being summer I would highly recommend booking far in advance of your stay. The Hostel is rough and the basic of amenities in the room. Take your own towels. Sounds outrageous but we weren't offered towels, what services were available, or offered anything other than the room at check in. I have stayed in hostels that were quite comfortable but I would never recommend the Raging Elk to anyone. There were no rooms available except this place . We had business in Fernie otherwise we would have carried on to Cranbrook.

Fernie is a great little town.

Fernie is a great little town. I liked the shops as they were unique and offered different options. Also liked buying items that were made locally. The mountain view was amazing, loved how the mountains surrounded the town. The bagel shop food was great. I loved the chocolate shop as the chocolate was made locally which is why I made a purchase there. Some of the clothing in stores were very pricey, seemed to be good quality though. Very friendly service experience everywhere I shopped.

very comfortable rooms on the main highway, but not noisy at all. This looks like an old motel that has been renovated and is really nice, not many this nice in Fernie! I loved the spa and sauna a great way to finish the day or pass the time if its too cold outside. Loved the views from the room of the mountains. I used the free bike hire, it was so easy to get around town by bike since its very flat. Riding to Tim Horton's and the new Wendy's was a highlight!

Nice location in Fernie. The facility is clean. Kitchen is well equipped. There is a nice common room for reading, play pingpong and pool. staff are very friendly and helpful! We accidentally lock our car keys in the car. It was sunday, most business were closed. The front desk staff help us look for options to get assistance to unlock the car. He is very helpful! We are very appreciated his helping hand!

The unit was absolutely spotless, the kitchen included everything we needed to cook our meals, the beds were comfy, the shower had great pressure and was hot! Being able to sit out on the balcony after a hike was lovely and the smart tv in the loft was a nice touch. We were impressed by how quiet the complex was. Central location to everything going on in Fernie - food, hikes and shopping!

The hotel hopes to be fully sustainable by 2025 and do not have any single use plastic on site at all and they use solar power for up to 45% of their power. Which is great to know they are doing their part to help the environment. The hotel was clean, hot tub area was super clean and tidy and even the bbq patio was very nice.

The bed was very comfortable. I appreciated having the microwave and fridge. Nice toiletries provided and the towels were fluffy. The hot breakfast was just fine, better than many other hotel "serve yourself breakfasts". I didn't get to use it but the pool looked really nice and it is a decent size.

We really liked how spacious the room was. We also liked how it was a relatively quiet hotel considering it was a busy weekend there. The only noise we really heard was when we were walking through the hallways - not much noise traveled into the room.

I appreciated the staff’s friendliness ... customer service in many places has suffered the last two years, and now we’re expected to “settle for less.” But at Fernie Fox, all the staff went beyond the curt “hello, have a nice stay” type of greeting.
