The person I first dealt with, was not exactly friendly, especially when I came back to let him know we weren’t staying in a room that stunk of weed.. he didn’t even apologize, just wanted to know if I wanted to cancel the reservation. I told him that I wasn’t cancelling, but wanted another room. I complained to the manager in the morning, but I would not recommend this hotel to travellers.

Really didn't stay long enough to give a full evaluation, but there seemed to be good facilities in the town to just about satisfy most needs. Little concerning as we must have heard major sirens (could not see front and our room faced a hill) at least 5 - 6 time thru the night.

I would have liked to spend more time there as seems there is quite a bit of history.
Good restaurants. We had a very good and filling evening meal at Chopsticks Restaurant.
It appears the best way to get around is to stay on the main highway through town. We did not get to see a lot of it.

I was there to visit family and friends so I was not a true tourist.
I didn't have time to go on the Art Walk...but that is usually very interesting and great for tourists. Lots to see in the West Kootenay's.

Several very good restaurants in area, lovely golf course, Little Bear, food there was very good. We especially enjoyed the Black Rooster located in Super 8, great food and very friendly staff. Would come here again just not stay at Cozy Pines.
This was our 2nd Motorcycle Trip to the area this year - this time we came with 14 riders (8 rooms). As much as the staff is very friendly and the location is perfectly central to everything we need - it is just disappointing to see the Hotel deteriorate more and more each trip. The front desk staff was genuinely concerned and tried to accommodate to the best of their abilities - but some things are just "out of their control".
Location is on a main street. There is a restuarant next door (excellent food) and a Safeway shares the parking lot. The room was quiet and everything in the room worked well (heat, water (hot and cold), lighting, TV and internet). The hotel is dog friendly. Cost was average but the problems we experienced made it seem like it was overpriced.
This basement suite was superb. Located close to fantastic millennium park and walking trails and east access to lovely downtown Castlegar. The owner was extremely helpful and the inside of the property was as beautiful, spacious and well kept as promised by the pictures. I will definitely return.
breakfast in the box was better than most hotels at this time! forgot to pick up the evening before! would be nice to have it served in the morning!
it was quaint... felt like walking through a creaky museum and sleeping in the doukhobor days!
This hotel is more than meets the eye! Super comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast is good, the staff are friendly. For any craft beer enthusiasts, there is one right beside the hotel which was a huge selling feature for when I booked this place!
Breakfast was very good. The host Marc is a great man, very friendly. It was interesting to hear about his travels to South America. He was able to give me a ride to Castlegar airport (charged $50 for that, but it sounded reasonable).
We didn’t end up staying as the hotel was NOT a clean. I am still in a dispute to have the cost refunded as I should not have to pay fir a hotel that clearly was not clean and was not what booking.com showed
A nice restaurant located on site. Really enjoyed the art walking tour in downtown Castlegar. Didn’t notice the brewing company underneath the restaurant until too late. Continental breakfast was fine.
Everything else. Big, comfortable room. Normal breakfast facilities; waffle maker but nothing else hot. Easy to find from hwy but only 5 minute drive to downtown. Loved Castlegar.
The room was comfy and cozy. The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was the right price for just staying overnight while on a long car trip.
