Located in the ‘Romantic Route’ region of southern Brazil, the picturesque town of Gramado is a mosaic of German, Italian, and Brazilian traditions. It is located in the Gaúcha Hills area, at an average of 850 metres above sea level, and is considered one of the most charming places in the Brazilian hinterland.
Portuguese immigrants arrived in the area in 1875, and they were soon joined by Germans and Italians. This influence can be noticed in the architecture, as well as in the local cuisine and traditions of Gramado. Even hotels and ‘pousada’ guest houses in this area seem to belong to Alpine or German landscapes.
The popular Black Lake or ‘Lago Negro’ was artificially created in the 50’s after a forest fire, and its area was planted with species from Germany’s Black Forest. B&B’s and hotels near Gramado’s Lago Negro offer beautiful natural surroundings. The Film Festival is the biggest event of the year.
The town is served by Porto Alegre’s Salgado Filho International Airport and the regional Caxias do Sul Airport, while the bus station offers connections nationwide. Booking.com com offers the best hotels and lower prices in Gramado and nearby Canela.

Charming, lots to see and do, romantic.
Charming, lots to see and do, romantic. However restaurants and chocolate stores are not vegan friendly except for La Hacienda hotel. If you are vegan and visit Gramado, book a place with a kitchen to cook your own meals.

North, south and central Americans will love Gramado, the nature, the restaurants, the amazing hotels and attractions. For Europeans may not be that great, because it looks like many towns in Austria.

Gramado is a small city with so many things to do.
Gramado is a small city with so many things to do. In many ways it has a very "German" touch and it doesn't feel like you're in Brazil at all. It's great for a couple's trip, but there are also so many amusement parks that you can easily stay there with kids and never get bored. The abundant nature is stunning and we could have stayed for much, much longer.

Gramado is a super safe and organised town with attractions for both adults and children. Look out for Combo tickets for the main attractions as they give significant discounts. The Bus Tour is a great way to see Gramado and Canela at the start of your holiday. You can pay for a daily ticket when on the bus and can get on and off as many times as you like. It passes most attractions. Download the Bus Tour App for bus times and routes. The restaurants on the Main Street and covered road are a little on the expensive side, however on the side streets the food is just as good for a lower price. We in particular liked Av. das Hortensias for reasonably priced restaurants.
The house was in a beautiful neighborhood, and the location was excellent. It was only a couple minutes drive from downtown Gramado, with easy access to many shops and restaurants.
The house was great for our group, it had three separate bedrooms and a sofa bed. Additionally, the living room was large and we were able to comfortably sit around while eating dinner and drinking wine.
Our host Enio was very helpful, gave detailed instructions, and was very responsive to our questions.
Very modern, spacious family rooms, FABULOUS spa, good breakfast and fantastic location really close to main street and restaurants, but tucked away in a quiet area. A very good kids program with supervision all day. My son loved it. A personal concierge for your stay. Very comfortable beds and the first hotel of our stay in Brazil ( over 7 hotels) in which someone spoke English.
The room was beautiful and the property felt like a little French hotel. The staff were lovely and made an effort to communicate with me when I couldn’t speak any Portuguese. The location is wonderful - down a lovely tranquil street and close walking distance to the main centre of Gramado. I highly recommend this hotel. It was a pleasure to stay there.
The hotel is perfect for families! I traveled with my nine year old and she enjoyed the monitores play area on a daily basis. She felt right at home and we love that! The staff is incredible and very attentive and the food exquisite! We will definitely go back!
The hotel is great! The best part is the staff, they're super polite and respectful, always ready to help. Breakfast is really, really good. The room is fine with a comfy bed and hot shower!
The property has great potential, however it’s let down generally by a few things with the staff and the cleanliness. What we did like was the location to the town centre of Gramado.
Beautiful Hotel in Gramado, looks like an old Italian city.
The food is great, amazing gym, have a great kids space and the pool it’s good to spent feel hours to relax.
The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast very nice. Both the city center and Lago negro are within walking distance of the hotel.
The hotel opened July/2023, so The installation are very new and modern.
The staff is a great surprise, the attention and dedication made our stay special.
