You must visit beaches with hour away, don't go over two hours drive because roads are nit very comfortable.
Thai is why I do recommend a tour guide like Milton.

Nothing interesting to justify a stay. We had been robbed the mobile phone in the first 2 hours of our arrival, in a quiet and modern city mall.
The beaches are nothing special, the sea difficult to enter due to the many rocks right at the bottom
Just stay the minimum you need and head for better places. Only interesting area is the fish market where you buy the seafood and nearby restaurants cook it for you.

It's a huge city and tourism has not recovered to pre-epidemic levels. The grates, tall walls, electric fences and graffiti alert you to potential trouble. The beaches are fabulous and the night life active, but tourists should take common sense precautions. The evening artisan fair on the city beach is a must visit.

What a beautiful city! the sites and view of the bay was spectacular. I felt very safe walking from the hotel to the row of restaurants along the water.
And the food was spectacular. I cannot wait to return.

And it seems like there are pockets of good spots. But overall the city is very dated. Very grimy and very polluted.
As a foreigner i would not recommend there are much nicer places in Brasil.
Fortaleza is over priced and underwhelming
Apartment and hotel with impeccable cleanliness.
I had already stayed at Good Life, but this time when I returned I was pleasantly surprised as the apartment had been completely renovated and the bed had been changed to a much more comfortable one.
But what I like the most is the wonderful view of the sea!
The hosts and hotel staff were very friendly and attentive.
The pool area is still beautiful and super well maintained.

Many hotels in Brazil claim to be 4 or 5 stars but fail to deliver on service. Gran Marquise succeeds where they fail, delivering high quality service from check-in to checkout and may well deserve a 5 star rating. Friendly service, free and plentiful amenities like water bottles, and staff that seem eager to help at every step life Gran Marquis to a higher level.
The air conditioning system makes sure you will be able to sleep. Considering how hot it can get in Fortaleza, this is like a prerequisite. The room was spacious and we had a balcony with a decent view of the city. The staff was friendly and kind. The breakfast was full of variety. We really enjoyed our week there.
Be careful the location is really dangerous there are shantytowns nearby and their inhabitants do not hesitate to rob you. This hotel still has to work a lot on the client relations and training for their staff. When i was robed Fernanda the manager was very helpful. To finish in a positive note chef is a real gem.
The hotel had been recently renovated and was very clean. The reception area very cool and the bedroom terrific. Very central beachfront location and the check-in staff great!
The normal hotel that we stay at in FOR, which is meant to be the best in the city was nothing compared to this one.
I’m vegan and the number of choices of food at breakfast made it easy for me to find food to eat. The hotel lobby was beautiful. My view was awesome. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location, across the street from, to the beach was great.
It's located right next to a Pão de Açucar which was nice. Nice, clean room with amenities. The pool and fountains were excellent, and we loved the jacuzzi!! This is rare in Fortaleza. An actual heated jacuzzi.
I would like to thank special Marcio, who was at the reception and helped my sister and my niece with everything. Outstanding for all staff, very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the hotel.

The location of the hotel was the best they could offer because of its ocean view room. The problem is the location is surroundings a bit sketchy and full of homeless people.

The pictures show a brand new hotel, however is old, the garage was full at night. I was there with my kids, I did not feel like a good hotel for our stay.
The location is ideal. The hotel is about one block from one of the best areas of Fortaleza - Praia do Futuro. Great stuff to do day and night and safe.
