I stayed in Queanbeyan as an alternative to staying in Canberra where I had an appointment. Queanbeyan is a very pleasant city with good amenities, all facilities and in close proximity to Canberra. It is, in my opinion, more friendly and easier to get around.

Our first time visiting had us low in expectation for the most recent trip we had, but it seemed to be an entirely different town this time! Friendly locals, clean look, many food and stay options, family friendly and felt moderately safe. Leisure activities may have lacked, but Canberra is just next door, so that was no issue for us. An overall pleasant town and worthy of visiting.

The place is very clean and the town is well looked after.

The place is very clean and the town is well looked after. Has great parks and fantastic walking paths. Everything is easy to get too. Had dinner at the Tourist Hotel. This exceeded our expectations. Well worth going and trying the hot rock where you cook the meat yourself. Easy place to get around. Had breakfast both days at a Cafe over near Spotlight. The meals fantastic. Worth a visit. It looks like it is a family operated business.

I lived in Queanbeyan for many years and was visiting. The town is easy to navigate and there is a regular bus service into Canberra City. The are many outlets for eating and its a pleasant walk along the river.

Heat only heat I can put against this hotel is the shower.

Heat only heat I can put against this hotel is the shower. The shower is designed for short people and the shower head plastic parts have been damaged by the hot water. I love a warm shower, not too hot, and the heat available in the shower is in abundance which I reckon you could boil an egg. I would come again though as this shower head, above described is not definately not a deterrent, just an idea for improvement, and it is good the feel like a giant just that once in a while.

The value for the location was exceptional. The situation of the motel is brilliant: the leafy and quiet suburb was wonderful. The room itself, though a little outdated, was comfortable and maintained to an above acceptable standard. the proprietors/staff were friendly, approachable and always smiling. Due to airline delay we were 2 hours late, but the proprietor was waiting, well after the office closed, to meet us and check us in.

The cabin was a two bedroom studio. Good size. Clean, and the bed was warm and comfortable. The internet was a little slow. Kitchen was suitable for small meals to make. The village was clean and tidy. Location was good but it would be handy to have a car. My son lives close by so we had transportation to see Canberra and surroundings. Ubers were cheap to get to A to B. Staff were friendly. We would stay here again.

The owners were bright & cheerful. They asked if there was anything that could be done for us. They phoned a taxi for us so that we could visit a local business. There was room service for all meals if we wanted it. Parking was excellent and secure. The Grand Manor Motel is a short walk to the CBD of Queanbeyan.

Canberra is THE place to be but I have always preferred Queanbeyan for its country town feel. And I also appreciate that you have a budget room – for us older people having to count their pennies. Look forward to staying with you next time.
