I have stayed in Port many time but always with family prior to this occasion. It is a beautiful town with gorgeous beaches and many historical features, there is not much more to want, it has most facilities. Always love Port, with its many restaurants, wonderful clubs and sporting facilities. Wildlife in abundance in Port, one of the few places you might just see animal in the wild, make sure you look up in the gum trees, you might just get a surprise.

Clean town, good beach, plenty of restaurants and a very good bowls club for dinner, remember to take id. Stopped overnight going and returning from Victoria/ Queensland. There are some good motels just back from the beach.

Call a place paradise and kiss it goodbye. PMQ case in point
Call a place paradise and kiss it goodbye. PMQ case in point
Pros
- The beaches would be among the best in the world.
- Greenery
- Nature attractions/urban wildlife
- Improvements on waterfront world class
- Beach walkway from Town to Lighthouse beach amazing.
Cons
- Roads are simply appalling in many places, just pothole covers holding hands and a should be a real embarrassment to local council, though looks in places they have started fixing the problem
- High elderly and low socio-economic population, kind of depressing local population
- Population/development explosion, high rents and tariffs
- Lots of hoons and bogans, exercise vigilance late at night
- Increasingly visible homeless problem
- Town is over promoted and exploited, certainly not a place to "get away from it all" anymore, its got plenty of what you came to escape, best to come outside of public and school holidays, always some pesky "festival" or event going on blocking roads and causing chaos
- Not a quaint fishing/holiday destination anymore
- If you strike a "Red Weed" season on your holiday, any beach-river activities are ruined.
-Service in most establishments is terrible

Happy and helpful staff at motel and EI restaurant.
Happy and helpful staff at motel and EI restaurant. The comfiest bed 🫠 you could ask for and walking distance to river, beach, restaurants and shopping centre. Given Free coffees upon book in for breakfast was a lovely bonus. 😊
Only disappointment was upgraded to balcony for the treat of the view of the river as shown in picture. We had a view of a car park. 😟

The Bowling Club was located at the back of the apartment building and only a short stroll away. Perfect place for dinner. Also love the restaurant at Westport for dinner. We have been there numerous times and never disappointed.
We have stayed in PM numerous times and always love coming back. Great accommodation, walks, beach and cafes. The Sea Acres Rainforest is definitely worth a visit and the food at the Cafe is lovely.

Nice Getaway.
Nice Getaway.
You can do Jet Ski at $240 per hour, and can swap drivers.
Sea Plane ride was good, but not comfortable.
Book a day in advance else you have to come back next day.
One thing is food is expensive in the place.
Quite modern hotel in downtown MacQuarie with ample parking (garage and courtyard). We had a very friendly welcome and there was another guy from the staff we encountered several times and who was always willing to tell us something about the town or the animals we had seen around. The room was third floor, reachable by elevator and nice and comfortable. Comfy beds and a big bathroom. There's also a Cafe in the hotel that serves a nice breakfast. The hotel is in walking distance to everything in downtown and at the waterfront.
The location was fantastic it is central to the Port Macquarie CBD there is plenty of food, eateries and walking activities close by. With free parking at the location it made for a relaxing holiday to be able to leave the car and walk around. It is near to The "Break Wall walk" Town Beach and Port Central. The hotel is comfortable and well equipped. The roof top spa is awesome. The WIFI is great and the room is spacious and comfortable
Great location - easy walking distance to main street and great restaurants. Walk way along the water edge, right beside the hotel. Looks recently refurbished, so very clean. Nice touch was the room keys were disinfected when I checked in and handed to me on a cloth. Good example of conscientious management. In general - well run and clean, which I cant say for all hotels in Port Macquarie.
This motel was exceptionally clean, but it was also very pretty. The room was well decorated and the grounds were really well kept with a cute BBQ area and sitting area. Very quiet so we had a restful sleep. We went into Port Macquarie for dinner, but we went back into town in the morning to walk along the waterfront before heading North. Port Macquarie is a very pretty and friendly town.
The accommodation was impeccably clean, meticulously organized, and thoughtfully designed, creating an atmosphere of unparalleled comfort and coziness. Without a doubt, I look forward to booking this exceptional house again for my next visit to Port Macquarie, not just for the fantastic space but also for the delectable breakfast that added a delightful touch to my stay.
We booked the 3-bedroom apartment with ocean view which is so wonderful. All our friends don't want to leave & all thumbs up. Everything is very clean & tidy. View fm 9/Floor is so nice. Mattress is very good. We all have a good sleep. We'll definitely return.
We've stopped over in 5 apartments/hotels while the roadtrip fm Brisbane to Sydney. This is the best one.
I found the my room to be what I had expected; very clean and everything I would need. But, I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the mattress was; it seems most hotels I stay in have mattresses that are well worn, too soft and saggy and past their expiry date--but, not the case here, this mattress was perfect. Thank you so much!
Port Macquarie is a bit of a hidden gem in between Sydney and the Gold Coast. Really enjoyed a 5 day stay whilst travelling the east coast. Very nice hotel located close to waterfront and town centre. No restaurant on site but plenty of eating options nearby. Underground parking available.
Great location. Straight across from the beach and easy walk down town to restaurants and shops. It was so good to find a hotel that is doggy friendly too. It was the biggest reason we chose to stay at Ibis Styles as they allowed our pet to stay with us as well.
was given waterfront views so kindly, without pay extra. Room was exceptionally nice and clean. Batheroom, bed and view was a highight and hotel is located right on water and right in town! staff sooo friendly and the SPA room is awesome! the view is amazing!
The location of Sandcastle apartments is superb, it's the perfect location within Port Macquarie. The apartment is within walking distance to new restaurants and cafes are nearby. The apartment was much larger than I expected.
The room was clean and very nice. The location was amazing and we really enjoyed our short stay here. The staff at the hotel were also very friendly and helpful during our stay.
Stayed in the 3 bedroom house, number 14. Caravan park was nice and quiet at night, Close to beach and just out of town. House was spacious and clean. Beds are comfy.
Very helpful, polite and friendly staff. Just the type of hotel I was looking for in Port Macquarie and a great location to be close to everything I needed.
