Very nice and welcoming staff. They don't speak English very well so some basic knowledge of German is recommended, however they make up for it with very open attitude and hospitality.
My room was spacious, with super comfortable beds and comfortable bathroom. It had all the amenities I could wish for.
The location of the hotel is absolutely superb - close to the centre of Grossarl (very nice) and literally on the slope. You can reach ski lift literally directly from hotel's door. With this ski lift you can ski the whole Grossarl-Dorfgastein ski area which provides plenty of excellent slopes.
Finally, I recommend hotel's restaurant. It serves excellent buffet breakfasts and very good dinners. It's absolutely worth the money it costs. It is also very convenient to have this restaurant in the same building as accommodation.
I am very happy with my stay at this hotel and I hope I'll return to it in the coming years. I wish the whole Grossarl / Gastein valley community better winter conditions than in winter of 2023/24 because it's clear that there were many investments in the whole skiing area and it's very well prepared for skiers.

Enjoying a wonderful location in Großarl, in the southern part of the Salzburger Land, the Hotel Tauernhof offers you all the comforts of a 4-star family hotel for your holiday in Austria.
Barbara and her husband are fabulous host. The food is amazing, they are always very helpful and friendly.
Just a quick note, the hotel does not accept credit or debit cards, cash only.

Everything was very good, clean and friendly. The room had a balcony with a great view west towards the hills and church. Nice coffee in the room. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful.
We often attend the monthly Sunday dance at this hotel, but had never stayed overnight. This time we decided to travel by train and bus and stay overnight. There is an hourly bus from Schwartzach station; and it is an easy 25 min walk back downhill.
The Natur Schwimmbad in St Veit is well worth a visit (and only €2!)
The customer service from our hosts was exemplary. They processed a beautiful apartment with everything we could possibly need. If you are looking to stay nearby I highly recommend choosing this apartment. We had 9 different accommodations across our bike tour of this region of Austria and this was our favourite. Don't miss this opportunity.
Communication with hotel was fast and smooth. I appreciate a small kitchenette on the appartment. The beds are large and comfortable. There is also pizzeria at the Hotel lobby. The hotel staff is friendly and supportive. In example we have to ask for a large pot to prep apre-ski pasta for us and we got it in 2 minutes from hotel manager.
