We had great big appartmnet with tarrace. Very freindly staff and good food in restaurant. I am not sure if it was mentioned in Booking that bathroom is open on living room, so less perfect for non couples.
A good location for a stress-free stay in Payerbach, Landhaus Dodo is an apartment surrounded by views of the garden.

The place is very cosy and the surroundings are nice for walking around. Sauna gives a fantastic opportunity to relax. Having a bathtub in the bathroom is also very helpful to rest after an intensive learning day.

Fantastic quiet place on the mountain. Modern and old style decor mixed, very tasteful, comfortable, perfect. One room has two single beds, another room has a large double bed. Kitchen is very nicely renovated too. No noise, no dogs barking, no traffic, only silence!!!
A traditional hotel at the foot of the Rax Mountain, the Knappenhof offers a wellness area with sauna and steam bath, and a restaurant with a large terrace serving regional and seasonal dishes.
Nice little town in the mountains. As one would expect in Austria, it is very clean and organised and locals are friendly. The Semmeringbahn railyway line offers easy, quick and scenic transit to nearby settlements. Ski resorts close by. Overall, great experience.

Payerbach has a perfect location for hiking or cycling in...
Payerbach has a perfect location for hiking or cycling in the mountains. There are many hiking trails (and not only on the Rax). There is a small hill (950 m) above the town which gives you a beautiful view on the valley. There is a Bahnwanderweg (Railway hiking trail) to Semmering with many amazing viaducts. On the first day we took the train until Semmering and we walked back to Breitenstein and took the train home from there. The next day we took the train to Breitenstein and walked back to Payerbach from there.
Do not forget to drink a coffee and eat a cake or ice cream in the Cafe Alber in Payerbach.

Convenient location for trips to Semmering or Stuhleck, it is located close to the S6 motorway. The town center has many shopping possibilities. Train station nearby can be convenient for some travellers.
