Great option for access Hallstadt and Dachstein Krippenstein. The mountain views are stunning. The town is very quite and charming. Very few restaurants and only one grocery. The grocery was adequate, but expensive.

Great location in a quiet part of town. Very nice owners. Trouble-free parking and very decent suite equipment.

We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but...
We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but found as our trip got closer that there was a lot more to do in Obertraun and Halstatt than originally thought so our one night stay turned out to not be long enough. If I were booking again I would definitely stay two or three nights so we could explore the salt mines, walks and view points.

We stayed in Obertraum so we could take the ferry to go to Hallstatt by ferry. The ferry ride was amazing, heavenly peace and tranquil. However, we did not know enough about the area. We found out from the ferry driver that there was an ice cave nearby and a skywalk. We could include that in our future trip.

Obertraun is probably the best place for easy access to Hallstatt (besides being in Hallstatt itself). Bike rentals are easy and the bike ride to Hallstatt is also easy with very little elevation change. Lots of biking in the area.

Perfect location, fantastic view to Hallstatt and the mountains. Easy to reach Hallstatt even with bicycle, Dachstein and mountains are also very close. Lot's of things to see - easily can spend 2-3 days in the surroundings. Railway station and bus station is available - well connected.
We had a wonderful time at Apartment Stadler. Elisabeth was kind enough to pick us up from the train station, and the property's location, just a short walk from Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen train station, was perfect. The apartment was spacious with two rooms and balconies offering beautiful views of the lake and the mountains, along with a fully functional kitchen. Elisabeth also provided us with a travel pass for bus transportation. Overall, it was a great experience and we highly recommend Apartment Stadler for a stay in Hallstatt.
It is end of Obertraun , if weather is good you can see the five fingers mountain platform. Apartment was very clean and it is only suitable for 2 people stay. Pizerria near banhof Train station is really good , for the location it was reasonably priced. This is the only eatery/restaurant that is open on Sunday in Obertraun. The host allowed us to do early checkin and explained everything to use in the apartment. Kitchen is good and lot of stuff that can be used.
Lovely breakfast and location. Preferred to stay over night in this town, over staying in Hallstatt and it was the right decision. The views from their grounds are fabulous. Although not luxury, it was a very price worthy stay for one night. It was clean and comfortable. If you are coming from Hallstatt just make sure to check bus times. They don't run too often around 16.00, but they take you all the way to the hotel.

We spent an amazing weekend in Obertraun, a calm and peaceful area. The room we stayed in was comfortable and has a beautiful view, great breakfast and the owners are very kind and helpful, it was a pleasure to meet them. Getting to Hallstatt from the house is very easy, there is a bus stop and a boat nearby. It was for sure a great experience, we would go back and recommend.

My family and I stayed at the Bergmoment Apartments over Christmas 2022. We occupied the 2 bedroom and 1 of the 1 bedroom apartments. The accommodation was absolutely wonderful. Clean, tidy, well equipped and very tasteful decorated. The location was great, very close to both Hallstatt and Obertraun and a short drive to many other picturesque Austrian towns.
The apartment was well-maintained and had all the necessary amenities. Our host was helpful. The kitchen was also good. This is a traditional Austrian house. A free parking facility is also available. Obertraun was very peaceful and beautiful too. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the beauty of Austria, this is a good place.
My husband, teenage son and I had a wonderful three-night stay at this B&B in the quiet town of Obertraun. Heidi and Hubert are kind, friendly hosts and very helpful guides to local attractions beyond the compulsory visit to lovely Hallstatt. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. Breakfasts were generous and delicious.
Beautiful and calm location, if you're in good condition it's an okay walking distance to Hallstatt. Close to the Obertraun train station. The room was very cute and cosy, very clean and had everything we needed. Special thanks to the employee who was extremely sweet and kind :)
The hotel was clean and quiet. The location was fantastic- only 5 kms from Hallstatt but with a better view and no crowds. The view from the room was stunning. It was warm and comfortable. Maryana, the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent.
Beautiful interior, very clean, you have all facilities. Also you could always come into the kitchen and have a snack, use the fridge or borrow an umbrella. The owners are very kind and nice people аnd will help in any issue:) If only all hotels were like that!
Very comfortable room in stunningly beautiful alpine valley. Friendly helpful hosts. They designed the place as a bed and breakfast and you can tell -- all the details are just right. In the end we much preferred this setting to Hallstatt across the lake.
A secluded, quiet alternative to staying in Hallstatt. Spectacular views, extremely polite and patient staff, clean rooms, and within walking distance of the Obertraun resort area, where you can catch a boat, bus, or taxi to Hallstatt.
Amazing location and perfect facility. Very friendly staff, the owner is very kind and gave us a lot of useful tipps about the locations nearby. The rooms are cozy, clean and comfy with authentic austrian atmosphere. Totally recommend!
