Breakfast was great, a lot of choices. Room was very clean, but small for 4 star hotel. I think the room is less then 20 m2 but i say again very clean. If you want your skiing winter experience to be idyllic, be sure to book a room right here. Hotel on the trail + extraordinary food offer (breakfast, lunch, mid-meal and dinner) + activities and content for the youngest and super-friendly staff will make your annual event unforgettable.
The possibility of leaving the hotel directly on the ski lift and already in the first slope to feel the perfect tracks or powder trails, simply magical. Plus, while Obertauern is covered in natural snow, other surrounding ski resorts don't offer nearly as much satisfaction.

Obertauren is great for snow quality we had a week of snow when most others were struggling. The lifts are fast, new and most feel quite plush, the resort circuit links really well and nearly forms a doughnut around the town, lots of runs end up heading back to somewhere in the town, no particular runs get especially busy at the end of the day. We found some lovely Austrian huts with self and table service with great Austrian food, the Mankei Alm was particularly hospitable.
We were staying in a self catering apartment as a family, the only down side was we couldn't find anything to do in the evening, the centre consists of a only a handful of shops, there was no toboggan run open when we were there, no pool, skating or evening activities that we managed to find so if you want to have evening activities for kids or teens maybe book into one of the large Hotels with lots going on. Although this is a purpose built resort it has some charm and feels Austrian, We would certainly ski there again

If you are lucky with the weather and snow conditions, you will enjoy sunshine in the mountains - blue skies and fresh air. Definitely recommend for shorter ski breaks or with small children, as the ski area is not very big and might be too small for experienced skiers/those who whish to explore more/change ski pistes.

PROS - Freeride possibilities. All hotels in walking distance to the slopes. Snow assurance. Interesting slopes with all kind of difficulties.
CONS - Occasianal queues on the lifts (max. 5mins). Could be crowded at the weekends. Short slopes due to small elevation difference.
Das Wismeyer is a perfect hotel for skiers. It is located directly on the ski slope.
The personnel is very friendly and helpful. It is useful to know that the hotel helps to transport the luggage from the parking to the hotel as it is a 5 minutes walk and you need to cross a ski slope.
Breakfasts at Das Wismeyer are plentiful and tasty. The restaurant also offers very good dinners (menu / a la carte).
The room is basic but comfortable and very clean.
Very good value for money! Staff clearly made a big effort to provide excellent service. Location is very convenient for skiing located directly at two lifts. It is slightly remote from the city, but the hotel has a shuttle service and they are very happy to drive you on request. Breakfast buffet was lovely and we were spoiled for choices.
A well-appointed apartment, not far from the main lift and gondola at Obertauern. It was quite clean upon arrival, the kitchen had most everything we needed (if a bit small), loved the balcony. TV and film selections were a nice touch. Wifi seemed to work well, and the tap water tasted really good!
The location is the biggest benefit. The hotel is little outdated what is visible also on the pictures but the staff is really nice and supportive and we felt welcomed. Although the rooms were old fashioned, everything was clean and functional and we enjoyed our stay.
Pretty good value for price, extremely friendly and helpful staff. All the requirements met, and any requests we raised were fulfilled. The presentation on booking matches the reality 100%, which was not always the case with other accommodations I tried.
The hotel was excellent, great food, bedrooms comfortable and the spa perfect. The staff were all very efficient, friendly and worked hard. The food was excellent at all meals. Any queries we had were efficiently dealt with and we enjoyed our stay.
The room met our expectations with enough room for all of us with a nice view over the resort. The location was overall very nice, especially in regards ski in ski out, which made it very convenient to get to the slopes.
The hotel is actually located directly at a bottom of a skiing slope. They have a car garage 100-200m away from the hotel and during winter transfer guests with a snowmobile to the hotel. Really cool experience! :) 👌🏻
