This was a real find for us, just the kind of stay we love, friendly, personal and kind. Great room and bathroom, with the best shower of our long trip. We arrive after a long ride due to the flood road and path closures, we able to give the bikes a host off before putting them in the shed. The garden and yard are just lovely, you can sit and have beer or coffee in the afternoon. Just wished we could have stayed longer.

We stopped here for two nights on our cycle ride to Vienna when heavy rain was forecast. We were delighted with the apartment which had everything we needed. We cooked meals (a good supermarket and a patisserie are both very close to the apartment), washed our clothes and relaxed in comfort. The apartment has ample space for bikes but you could also leave them under cover in the secure back garden. This characterful apartment was spotlessly clean and newly renovated. We moved one of the bedside lights onto the dining table to make a nice atmosphere in the evening. About 1km walk to Krems old town.

Hotel Zur goldenen Krone is located at the foot of Göttweig Abbey at the entrance to the Wachau Valley. WLAN access and parking are available free of charge.
We enjoyed our stay! The hotel is beautifully build in a nice farm. Nice small sauna next to a beautiful ecological pool. Breakfast was excellent with Rich buffet. I got gluten free bread for my request. New spacious apartment with big kitchen for self use. Excellent service. Owner was very generous, friendly and helpful with all our requests. We had nice walks in the surrounding, and used local bus to get to near by locations for hiking on the Wachau trail.
This B&B is beautiful and is immaculately clean and well organised. Our room was large and comfortable and we really liked the shared areas.
The courtyard is a splendid place to chill out and breakfast was all home made and delicious. We stayed on our Danube cycle ride and we were very pleased with the secure bike storage. Mautern is easier to access than Krems and we fully recommend this place.
The owner was super kind, told us about the building’s and hotel’s story, recommended the court yard of the restaurant - and that one was MAGICAL!
Breakfast was really good as well, staff was kind and attentive.
They have their own line of soaps and creams with their grapes, which was also very cool.
This is a great hotel garni in an excellent location for touring the Wachau. The Danube, the villages of Mautern and Stein are a 5 to 10 minutes walk away. The rooms are pleasant, the service is very friendly, and the breakfast is excellent. Highly recommended.
A lovely retro hotel with nice quality liquid soaps in the bathroom, comfortable bed and lovely breakfast, and the owner, no less, helped print a booking I needed for Vienna for me.
