This hotel is in a fantastic location, high up in the mountains. Whilst the rooms are very utilitarian, the bed was comfortable, the room and bathroom were very clean and the food in the restaurant was above average. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Great stay for 1 night travelling through Austria with the kids. They enjoyed themselves a lot. Great staff. It's an all inclusive concept where you choose your dinner at check in or the day before. Food is fresh and healthy but personally we prefer a à la carte menu.

It seems to be a family hotel. So they done everything from their heart. It compensated the fact that hotel is quite old. They let to park the motorcycle on the corner next to entrace, because there in no closed parking lot. The place is calm.

Then we discovered that it is enough to look around the area and it is BEAUTIFUL. Easy mountain routes, waterfalls, the charming town of Gmünd nearby. If you treat Malta as a base - many tourist attractions are very close. Great food at very decent prices. If you plan a longer stay, it is worth to buy the "Kärnten Card", especially when you intend to use Cable Cars or Panoramic Roads, also Boat Trips etc. You save a lot of money (of course, everything depends on the intended activities).
Realy nice hotel at the dam with a great location for hiking. Big family room at the last floor with very nice view. The tap water with amazing taste. Sauna and infrasauna were realy nicely furnished. Great restaurant with very good meals. Excellent breakfast. It was my second, and not the last stay.

Unfortunately it was a snowstorm during our stay so we could not do any hiking as we wished, but the hotel was very cozy anyways.

The place of the hotel and views from the window are just amazing! People who are looking for a calm stay in the nature this hotel is just perfect. As you can find nice paths to walk around in the mountains.
The hotel stays right at the edge of the Malta Dam, with breathtaking view. Riding motorbike on the interesting driveway there is enjoyable. Perfect staff service in restaurant!
