A stopover on our way from Italy to the UK. It was quiet and in between seasons, but would be ideally placed for the skiing in winter with chair lifts close by. Very cheerful host who made us most welcome. One word of caution - we were driving from Innsbruck and the sat nav took us the scenic route over the high mountain pass. Having recently snowed heavily and unusually early, the single track road over the top was very picturesque but the temperature was 0 degrees and dropping and was sleeting we were still in summer mode and did not have snow tyres. We made it over OK but good to check ahead if you plan to use this route. In good weather it would be fabulous.

Alex at reception upon arrival was great, very helpful, also helped us with info on Slovenia, our final destination. Covered parking for our motorbikes (but not completely closed-off and at an extra charge). Hotel in a quiet, mountainous village, at the start of the famous Silvretta mountain pass, great for motorbiking.

Great mountain for hiking and walks with children and or dogs. Restaurant Schafberg on the mountain does a fabulous buffet breakfast if you book a table in advance. Huge selection and the kids will tank up before you try to walk off the calories. Recommend the trikes for downhill fun with kids from around 5 y.o. onwards. Don't forget to book a trike before you go up the mountain. You can do this at the Gondola base station or online from 7am. It can sell out fast each day in peak seasons so book ahead. Playground decent and there are lovely lakes to visit. At the right time of year the place is covered in european blueberries you can pick and eat on you walks. You won't be disappointed. Gargellen is one of our personal top 2 picks in Voralberg.
The host and all people working there are very friendly and always willing to help you. Halfboard is amazing. Breakfast was good and dinner was a surprising delight every day! It's close to the ski lift, ski equipment rentals and the supermarket. Well-decorated rooms with beautiful views. I look forward to coming back to this comfortable hotel to recover and rest every day after skiing. Other guests come back year after year and I think we will also come back again!
A delightful small alpine hotel experience that combines the best of Austrian tradition with modern style, excellent food, a relaxed atmosphere and exceptional value for money. Helen and Manfred are wonderfully friendly hosts who go out of their way to make you feel at home. And the bonus - Manfred produces seriously good quality beer from his boutique brewery!
Location is great. Small village, ski to door access though the hotel is not the closest to ski lift, bus in the morning to the lifts, quite environment. very cozy atmosphere, kids and pets are very welcomed. Very nice bar with fireplace, friendly, approachable and helpful staff. Special thank you to the cook, dinners were excellent. Dinner buffet for kids.
