I did not know anything about Feldkirch prior to my visit, other than that it was the westernmost train station in Austria I could travel to in order to get to Liechtenstein. Feldkirch has inventive and unique tourist brochures which really enhanced my stay and let me learn a lot about the city. The old town is very charming with a laid-back vibe (walkable from the train station), the hillside houses are very picturesque, and I enjoyed this city way more than I was expecting. I am glad I stayed overnight in Feldkirch to facilitate my trip to Liechtenstein. Now that I know more, I consider it worth a trip even without Vaduz on the itinerary.

Beautiful medieval center with old houses and plenty of restaurants, cafés. Endless shopping possibilities compared to the size of the town. Lively Saturday market.
Very good public transport. Amazing surrounding.
Perfect for a base and making excursions to the surrounding mountains, towns and countries.

I sort of randomly chose Feldkirch as an overnight...
I sort of randomly chose Feldkirch as an overnight destination on a recent trip and was left wanting to return. I admittedly didn't know much about the town and chose it as a convenient location for logistical needs, but was immediately charmed by its historical character and bountiful options for dining, bars and shopping.

Excellent Location as we were travelling by train on Interrailkarten.
Next to Station but no problems with train noise except very occasional freight trains - sleep undisturbed !
Right next door to very good supermarket with two great cafes and the bus station too.
Feldkirch a very pretty and historic town with Bonny Zoo - great for kids and adults - many good restaurants of various types.
Handy town for surrounding countryside and other towns including Luxemburg

Most people coming here will be vising Liechtenstein, and I was no different, but Feldkirch itself is beautiful. I liked the architecture on my walk towards the border and my accommodation. I liked the look of the buildings of the State Court (Landesgericht) and State Finance Administration (Finanzlandesdirektion) the most.
Very small, but very cosy studio for single travelers. I paid for a single room apartment and got room no 5. It had a single bed, tv, fast internet, small kitchen with stove, tap, kettle, plates etc. The toilet and the shower is a separate unit, but actually much better solution this way. 15 minutes walk from the railway station, The road is very busy and noisy, but my room was to the backyard, so the noise was not disturbing especially with the window closed. Good price in Austrian standard. Shops and bakery/café next door.
This building has a long and interesting history. You can see really old parts in the basement (guest kitchen) and in the dining room. The bathrooms are new, nice and clean. The hostel has a quiet background garden and a small garden house with table+benches and with a ping-pong table. There is a small shopping mall nearby.
This is my second time in Central Hotel Löwen and I'm always satisfied with their apartments and service. This time I had a room with a nice city view on the old town of Feldkirch. It was a clean, cozy, and calm room with a private bathroom. I also liked the size of it and how it's light during the day.
Great location! Attached to the bahnhof which has a grocery store and cafe. The hotel restaurant has a lovely outdoor patio and an excellent breakfast. My room was comfortable and well appointed. The staff was helpful and kind. Easy 10 minute walk to the old town.
Fabulous hotel with an incredible breakfast! Staff were so accommodating and helpful. Wish we could have stayed another night or two. Very good value, free parking. Hotel restaurant served delicious dinner too. The Wildpark in Feldkirke is GREAT for kids.
Very easy, clear and secure check in! Very clean, modern building, no weird smell, great coffee, big room, nice walk-in shower, and overall I must say that it looks much better than the 4 stars hotels in Italy or other touristic destinations
The hotel itself is lovely, especially the entry and restaurant area. There was a 38-euro all-you-can-eat barbecue the night we stayed, and it was very good. The hotel staff was also very friendly and accommodating.

It’s a great well maintained hotel with some history, secure parking and spacious bedrooms. The beer garden is handy and brekky is more than adequate. It’s within 5min walking distance into the historic town.
