We had a great stay - very comfortable accommodation, lovely views and a great host who went out of her way to help us and put on a lovely breakfast each morning. Alpbach is such a charming village with some great spots to eat and there was a bus to the ski lift from just outside the property which made everything very easy. Would highly recommend!
This Tyrolean-style guest house is located in the centre of Alpbach, a 5-minute drive from the Wiedersbergerhorn Ski Lift.

Beutiful views and a few skiing/ hiking possibilities around. There is only one slope for kids/begginers in the village of Alpbach but there is a skibus free for guests that leaves to the closest mountain (7min away) every 10-30 min. The town is cosy and not crowded (we were there in the first week of February). There are several restaurants but they have short/strange opening hours. Luckily, there is also a supermarket.
We came by train to Brixlegg and manage to get around with kids and without a car but I would recommend having one.

Smallish village, with outsize skiing.
Smallish village, with outsize skiing. Fairly large ski area - we skied for 4 days, could easily do a whole week. Not a huge amount in the village, but some pleasant restaurants. Relatively easy to get to without a car - train from Innsbruck, then mountain bus. Beautiful unspoiled Alpine village.

Very beautiful village and surroundings with lots of walks for all abilities and two lakes for swimming, Reither see just down the road and a bit further away in Kramsach the much bigger Reintaler see. It's a perfect location also for visiting the gorges and Achensee which is only a half hours drive away. The only problem is that there is really hardly anything in the village, two restaurants and a shop and in the evening it is deserted.

Alpbach is a very peaceful pretty village.
Alpbach is a very peaceful pretty village. It is quite residential so not many shops or bars (no partying) but the restaurants are good and there is a variety of food around - we enjoyed Post Alm (pre book online! Liveliest place, live music on Sundays) and also Messner’s. The Ski Juwel area (main ski resort) is a short bus and there are 2 bus stops in the village, they run fairly often to and from. Conny’s Sport is great for ski hire. There is 1 small ski slope located in the village “Boglerlift” with a button lift - great for beginners or to watch the Ski Show that is on certain dates. The mountain views are beautiful all over the village. Ski schools seemed great (didn’t use). There is a hotel Boglerhof with a spa that you can book massages etc even if you’re not staying there. We stayed at Der Berghof Hotel and it was great (highly recommend if staying in this area - however no pool.)
A lovely surprise! We didn't know what to expect, from the hotel or the town, but we were warmly welcomed by the owner manager Kitty, and given an intro to the hotel, the hiking, local activities and the Alpbach card which enabled us to use chairlifts, busses and visit an outdoor museum for free. Loved the room and the terrace. The hotel is a true Tirolean guesthouse. Breakfast was probably the best we had. We would highly recommend Sonnwend.
A newly refurbished typical Austrian mountain house with a modern twist. Stunning views, comfortable bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, cozy living area, balcony around the whole house, small sauna, ski room. There is a restaurant right across the road. Access to Skijuwel lifts was very close. Barbara is a very kind owner, she provided us with some extra baby equipment for our newborn.
Everything! Clean, modern style - every detail was meticulously thought through. Stocked kitchen - grocery store just a short walk away. Coffee machine was amazing! Extra beds in the second bedroom - made it comfortable for three kids and left the main bedroom to us. Highly reccomend! Stay during the summer/fall included the Alpbach pass (gave us access to a ton of extra stuff).
Among many things I loved about my stay in Aussermooserhof, two things stand out: (1) the apartment was spatious and ver, very clean; (2) the view from the terrace (towards the further end of the Alpbach valley, was just magnificent
(and of course, the landlady, while usually very busy at the Alm, was really kind, only one needs to refresh their German before coming;-)
The host, Marianna was wonderful. She made sure that the room was ready for us, very early in the day. She even di a load of washing for me - I was very grateful, as I was travelling with my children. Even though the hotel accepts pets (my dog really enjoyed the stay too), you would never know any pets had been there. I would definitely return!
My stay at Haus Postfeld was absolutely amazing! The lady was so sweet, the inn was adorable, location was great with the ski bus stop just 6 minutes by foot, views were great, breakfast was great—everything was amazing. The lady tidied the room every day, gave a fresh set of towels, and left a new plate of fruit.
Everything was perfect, Christina was really kind and helpful, there was an Alpbachtal card she gave us which can be used for lots of activities around, tram access to mountain peaks, museums, swimming and more were free with this card and you can get discounts, We will definitely try to come back..
Very modern and well equipped interior, but built in the Alpbach tradition. Access to great walks from the apartment - Faulbaumgartenalm approx 3 hours out and back recommended (closed Monday & Tuesday when we were there). Immediate response from owner when heating needed adjustment.
Location was absolutely perfect for Conny's ski shop hire. Breakfast was wonderful every morning and plentiful. Everything was easy. Lovely places to choose to eat at night. The ski bus stopped outside the property and came frequently. Ideal location for the whole village ammenities.
We had a beautiful view from our balcony, location was very central and we had a lovely breakfast every morning. Our hosts Gitti and Sophie couldn't have done anymore for us including giving us great advice on day trips we could do. I miss Alpbach already!
The apartment was absolutely spotless, Katharina was so helpful. The setting was beautiful, with one of the best restaurants in Alpbach just up the road. The ski bus goes 4 times per day past the property. We can't wait to go back!!
This little hotel had the most incredible view of all the properties we stayed at on our 25 day vacation. The personal service of Frau Elisabeth and her family was amazing. What a great value. I’d stay a month if I could.
Great accomodation with an amazing view in a peaceful setting just 5 min walk from lovely Alpbach. The host makes you feel being at home from the moment you arrive and gave us some very good restaurant recommendations.
What a beautiful hotel with exceptional spa facilities! There are lots of areas for adults only where you can enjoy a swim and the serenity of the mountains while reading. Absolutely amazing!
Spacious appartment,, nice that there was a balcony. Typical Austrian decoration.
Very close by cable car to top of mountain. Free parking. Very polite and helpfull personnel.
spacious holiday home at an exceptional setting in the Alpbach village. lots of character, and privacy on top. We love the woodburning stove, the view, the owner’s hospitality.
Fabulous traditional lodgings in the centre of town. Alpbach's best bar with great hosts. Great food and complimentary breakfast. Bus to the ski lifts right near the rooms.
