Bae Abermaw Boutique B&B

Barmouth

This coastal hotel offers free parking and a spectacular location in Barmouth. There is a bar, a garden, and striking views. Snowdon is less than an hour’s drive away through stunning National Parkland. There were a lot of stairsteps up to my room but what a view it afforded! I could see the entire width of the estuary and its tidal changes. And the room was large and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and the serving staff were very cheerful every morning. Kudos to Gary who was pleasant, kind, courteous, and treated me (a senior female solo traveler) very well.

Plas Dinas Country House 5 stars

Caernarfon

The Gunroom restaurant features award-winning Welsh chef Daniel Ap Geraint and offers two sittings (6pm & 8pm) each evening. The monthly changing menu offers a 9-course hybrid taster menu that celebrates Welsh produce and seasonal delights. Whilst it offers fine dining, you will feel relaxed and indulged from the moment you walk in. Advance booking is essential. Sittings are available at 6pm and 8pm but the experience commences some 30 minutes prior in the beautifully designed Drawing Room. Everything was amazing. Our room, the Caroline, was beautiful. The proprietors have thought of everything. Some homemade little treats waiting for us to accompany our in room tea & coffee. Cocktail hour before dinner with delicious canapés, then the Michelan like 3 course dinner was outstanding. We couldn’t fault this property.
