Around a 15-minute walk from the Temple of Heaven, New World Beijing Hotel features guestrooms with WiFi. It offers an indoor swimming pool, a spa centre, a fitness centre and a business centre with meeting and banquet facilities. Rooms were clean, and the breakfast spread was large and delicious. The club lounge had daily cooked specials and good selection of food too.

House in a well-preserved old residence, The Orchid Hotel, Beijing is located in the historic Hutong area in the heart of Beijing, a 12-minute walk from Houhai Lake, a popular area filled with various bars and restaurants. It features free WiFi in all areas and free bicycles. Great hotel in a great location. We were upgraded to a Residence which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was fantastic with two restaurants to choose from. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The Opposite House by Swire Hotels is one of four Houses in The House Collective. Located in Taikoo Li Sanlitun a vibrant open plan shopping, dining and entertainment destination developed by Swire Properties, The Opposite House was designed by Kengo Kuma, one of Japan’s most celebrated architects. The House’s 99 guest studios include nine spacious suites and a penthouse duplex with a 240 sqm roof terrace. The service was terrific. From a cute complimentary mini bar to a little fruit and nut plate delivery upon arrival. I asked for a late check out and it was no problem. The location was incredible! Close to many shops and restaurants which made walking around fun. The bathtub was awesome!

Beijing Xinxiang Yayuan Courtyard is located in Yanle Hutong, a 10-minute walk from Wangfujing. It is a surprise hidden in the ancient Beijing Hutong. The hotel was renovated and upgraded from Beijing's traditional Zhengsi Siheyuan and has rich cultural heritage. The design style is to retain the traditional red and green elements of the courtyard house outdoors and to combine the modern Zen-like tranquility indoors. Free WIFI is provided. The property is in an excellent location in Beijing. It is walking distance from 2 metro stations (roughly 10 minute walk to each). The property is also secure with lovely traditional architecture that has been updated with modern amenities.

Ideally located in the embassy area, Holiday Inn Express is around a 15-minute walk from the popular Sanlitun Bar Street. It provides modern rooms with free internet. Guests have free access to the fitness centre and free use of the massage armchair.

A hearty buffet breakfast is served in the stylish dining area, which also offers set lunch and dinner menus. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a freshly ground coffee and welcome tea at the lobby. I liked everything - breakfast was good, it had both Chinese and Global dishes (I usually go for oatmeal, toasts, coffee, fruit and something local, which was plenty). The rooms were quiet and well-equipped, all the essentials such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap etc were there. The hotel is conveniently located if you travel by texi (which is dirt cheap in Beijing via wechat app - just add your card) though it may feel as it is a bit far from the metro (but not too far). You can also walk to the hotel if you find yourself at Teekoolee mall (or something like that). Also, if you are taking one of those bus trips to the Great Wall, Dongzhi men station is where many of those start, so its 15-20mins walk from this hotel.

Inner Mongolia Flavor Restaurant serves a variety of Mongolian-style dishes. Authentic Chinese cuisine can be enjoyed at Imperial Restaurant. The Mana Western Restaurant offers Chinese and Western buffet dishes. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. Internet access was nice and the room cleaning was excellent. Soundproof rooms saved us from external noises. The location is very convenient, all attractions are nearby, as well as a subway station.

The luxurious Grand Millennium is elegantly located in Beijing Fortune Plaza, close to the new CCTV Headquarters. It boasts an indoor swimming pool, pampering spa services and 4 dining options. Free internet throughout the entire property. Location and facilities are nice

Modern luxury can be enjoyed at Park Plaza Wangfujing Beijing, within 13 minutes' drive of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The hotel is about 900 meters from Peking Union Medical College Hospital. It is only steps away from Dengshikou Subway Station (line 5). Offering 2 dining options, it has free internet and a gym. The hotel facility and staff were outstanding! Cocktails and snacks in the lobby bar were great! Very nice atmosphere.

Located on Wangfujing Street, Prime Hotel offers 5 dining options, an indoor pool and parking(RMB15/hour). Rooms feature free WiFi and city views. It is a 5-minute walk from the Jiade Artistic Center and the National Art Museum of China. The hotel is very good in terms of services, the breakfast is excellent and with a lot of variety, the room is very clean, spacious and very modern. The staff is charming, they care about giving you a quality service and were very kind to us when it came to arrange excursions or cab service. Especially the manager, Hank Yan, was very attentive every day to make sure we didn't miss anything and was very attentive to everything.
