The location and the charm of the house and the neighborhood, which is so close to Hilltop, Beatrix Potter's house, and the beautiful green fields with stone walls encircling an abundance of sheep. The hosts were wonderful and so welcoming. The full English breakfast was superb and delicious. Steve even went out of his way to drive us to the next town so we could catch a boat to cross the lake. Belle Green B & B is within a 5 minute walk from the Beatrix Potter house and a charming tavern where we could eat dinner. When we got home from dinner, Steve built a fire in the fireplace so we could sit in the living room and relax. Steve and Ann are the best hosts. Soon after booking the room, Ann sent a message to me with advice for how to get there, recommendations for where to eat dinner, and guidance for booking our tickets to Hilltop.
Hawkshead (Near Near Sawrey)
Situated in the rolling hills surrounding Esthwaite Water, the village of Hawkshead is home to The Queen’s Head Inn. This 17th Century inn has been awarded an AA 4-star rating for its varied menu, serving the finest local ingredients in a traditional country pub setting.
Each bedroom has a modern tiled bathroom and a contemporary design, some feature original beamed ceilings and a four-poster bed. The hotel features free Wi-Fi and each bedroom has an LCD TV.

Once owned by children's author Beatrix Potter, Lindeth Howe country house hotel is set in beautiful large gardens, just a 5-minute walk from the banks of Lake Windermere. Locally sourced produce is served on the seasonal English menu in the 2 AA Rosette-awarded Lindeth Howe Restaurant.

All of the spacious double rooms have a kingsize bed, and the larger family rooms have a superking bed. The family rooms can sleep either 3 or 4 guests in single beds. All rooms have a TV with a DVD/CD player, and a well stocked hospitality tray. The en suite shower room offers free toiletries. Most rooms feature countryside views over Claife Heights.

We were happy with everything. Location close to Bowness facilities, buses, ferries etc. Our room was exceptional warm and comfortable, breakfast was simple and easy, but best of all are the staff, friendly, helpful with a sense of humour! If we visit again we will stay here.
