Built in 1452, the award-winning Angel Hotel is on one of the prettiest squares in the country, opposite the Abbey Gardens overlooking Angel Hill. The Angel Hotel offers traditional Georgian elegance and charm, mixed with modern design. The hotel offers 77 bedrooms, many featuring views of the Abbey Ruins and deep copper bath tubs.

oh my gosh…where to begin? the hotel is charming and quaint, full of charm! Staff is excellent, attentive, professional! Food was delicious and we greatly enjoyed afternoon tea. So close to all the shops and restaurants. Room was replenished everyday with biscuits, coffees, teas and waters. Especially loved the towel warmer!

The staff were great - very helpful and the owner was lovely to chat to with some great stories! We were also impressed with the extra facilities available in addition to the room itself - garden, books, games, lounge area, kitchen. Plus loved the breakfasts!

I couldn't fault a thing at Crownplace, it was the complete experience and just what I was looking for. The room was comfortable and really well designed. Sky TV, great wifi, comfortable bed, spacious and clean bathroom with lovely finishing touches. Great location for people to experience Bury St Edmunds. The breakfast was lovey the next morning and the owner couldn't have been more friendly. I'll definitely book again.
