Breakfast had many healthy options,including freshly made breads , cereals ,fish,dried fruits ,nuts,soft-boiled eggs,cheeses,home-made fruit jams and daily-made fruit cocktail( it was NOT from a can!) .I also appreciated that they made me a soy cappuccino every morning. The hotel was 35% of the price of comparable hotels in Gstaad,a quick 4 -minute train ride away.The train ran hourly but the buses ran every 10/15 minutes-so never a problem . The train stop (Saanen) is a 1-minute walk from the hotel. Saanen is much more authentic a town than Gstaad,and more interesting. Next to the hotel is a small farmers market-type store selling fruits,vegetables,nuts,grains-everything,really. I slept with the windows open every night-it was that quiet. Lovely pace! Excellent base from which to sample the various ski runs nearby.
